Imagine a group of people adrift at sea on an inflatable raft. No ship, no aircraft, and no land anywhere in sight. They decide to designate a captain, so they take a vote and elect one of their peers. For our analogy, let’s pick a name out of the hat and call him … I don’t know … how about Joe? Some of them question his mental capacity to lead them through the dire situation, but he’s the oldest, and he has the most experience in the sea environment.

With only a few oars onboard, they could compare biceps and forearms to determine who would get them. Joe decides instead to assign them by race and sexual orientation. Some don’t know which end of the oar to hold, and one doesn’t even know what an oar is. “I can’t define it,” they say. More than half of the castaways set to murmuring, but Joe’s in charge.

Then, if the situation weren’t bizarre enough already, Joe pulls out an ice pick and starts stabbing holes through the life raft! The holes are small but many and — apart from a miracle — would undoubtedly sink them.

Cut! Let’s stop the story right there and imagine if that group took an approval poll of Joe as their captain — as he continued poking holes in their raft. The results would seem obvious.

But what if I told you that 40% of the group still approve of Joe as their captain?

By the Numbers

According to the most recent CNN Poll and FiveThirtyEight, here are Joe Biden’s approval ratings for early July, 2023:

• Rasmussen 44%
• Gallup 43%
• NBC 43%
• Quinnipiac 41%
• McLaughlin 41%
• Pew 35%

Biden still has an average approval rating of about 40%? I could maybe understand 4%. I would give him Delaware and the loons in California and New York (not those of you who are the exceptions), who think plastic straws and pizza ovens mean the demise of planet earth.

Even the president of Ireland’s dog snubbed Biden … and he claims to be Irish (unless he’s talking to a Puerto Rican audience).

Who Are Those 40%?

Biden’s 40% marks the lowest approval rating at this point in a term since Carter. What I want to know is this, though: Who are those 40%? What would it take for them to disapprove of Joe Biden? Would he have to throw a grenade into the Oval Office?

Forget about parties. Whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, Independent, Green Party, or Communist Party USA, do you really want our “raft” to sink in the middle of the sea?

You may hold strong ideological views on rafts: the prettiest color, the most efficient dimensions, and the optimum inflation level. Still, doesn’t all that go out the window when he starts stabbing holes in it? Do you want to survive or not?

If you’re one of the 40% who still approve of President Biden’s performance, I would ask you the same question. Do you want to survive or not? He is literally destroying every sector of our country. Here’s what this administration has produced in just two and a half years.

Rolling Out the Red Carpet

Biden has allowed an all-out invasion at our southern border, a flagrant violation of Article IV, Section 4 of our Constitution. The number of illegal immigrants that have come into our country has surpassed 5 million. Gathered together they would make up the second-largest city in America and the 23rd largest state. And that’s not even counting the “got aways.” God only knows how many terrorists we’ve rolled out the red carpet for.

Can you name one other civilized country in the world where you can just walk in like that?

Annihilating American Energy

Biden has led our energy sector into annihilation. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “In 2020, the United States became a net exporter of petroleum for the first time since at least 1949.” Biden squandered that. He has had to go hat in hand to countries who don’t like us (like Venezuela) to beg for oil.

Moreover, he has depleted our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which affects our national security. His release of 180 million barrels over six months was the largest since the Reserve was created in 1974.

It’s the “Bidenomics” Stupid

Biden has trashed our economy. Most Americans are poorer under this administration, many losing upwards of 20% of their life savings. Economists Stephen Moore and E.J. Antoni tell us a total of $2.1 trillion was wiped out from Americans’ 401(k) plans between January and October of 2022. And we’ve had the worst inflation rate in 40 years.

The administration is promoting the castration of boys and mutilation of young girls’ breasts. Who would’ve thought we would even be having a debate about this?

Biden’s foreign policy has been disastrous. His insane pullout of Afghanistan was tragic for the families of the 13 brave soldiers who lost their lives to a senseless decision. It was an embarrassment on the world stage. A drone strike targeting an ISIS suicide bomber killed 10 family members, including children as young as two years old. And we left at least $7 billion worth of equipment to the Taliban.

And let’s not forget the Chinese balloon floating across our entire country, including some of our most sensitive military bases, unchallenged until its grand tour had reached its end.

Some argue that the balloon didn’t collect much, if any, intelligence; but it’s a moot point. We should have shot it down and asked questions later. How many inches over the Chinese border do you think a U.S. balloon would get?

Woke and a Joke

Our military policy has become a joke, and the world is laughing at us. We have military videos featuring a guy with a dress and all “giddy” over how diverse things are. It’s no wonder that for the first time since they went to an all-volunteer military, the services are falling short on quotas for recruiting. And all this is happening while China is building up its armed forces at a rapid rate.

And we haven’t even talked about the strong evidence that points to Biden being corrupt and compromised by China (and other countries). His administration is even trying to throw his political opponent in prison for no apparent crimes.

If you voted for Biden, fine. We can disagree on candidates. Now, though, you’ve had two-and-a-half years to watch him stab holes in our raft. If you want him to keep doing this over and over, it shows you are completely ideological and have abandoned all love for our country. Proverbs 26:11-12 tells us, “Like a dog that returns to its vomit, a fool does the same foolish things again and again.”
