The Real Problem Is Sin

By Janet Boynes Published on July 5, 2023

Sin is the issue. We can dress sin up to look good or see sin for the horror that it is. Regardless of how we dress it, sin will always be against God and the wages of sin will always be death. (Romans 6:23) There are many symptoms of sin that appear in life in various ways.

When parents give a child acetaminophen to reduce a fever, they are treating a symptom. They know the fever was caused by an underlying issue, but the fever is the most threatening symptom to address. We cannot escape the fact that the world is engulfed in sin. The issue is that man is corrupt, and the only solution is Christ. But man rejects God because he embraces his sin.

Just a Drop in the Bucket

When we look at the world, we see the degradation of mankind as sex trafficking increases, pedophilia is listed as a sexual preference, marriage is declining, and “family” now means any group of adults that wants to claim kids. Our children are being exposed to porn in their schools beginning at the kindergarten level. States are offering minors a safe haven to separate them from their parents so they can mutilate their bodies in an attempt to change their sexes.

These current happenings are just a drop in the bucket combined with all of the crime, rape, murder, and countless immoral acts. These are symptoms of a world full of sin. It is the agenda of an enemy that knows if he can get us caught up in our sin, no matter what form it presents itself, then he can keep us distracted and disconnected from God.

God is Not Playing With Sin

The Bible has not changed. Jesus is still the same as He was yesterday, today, and forever. The Word of God admonishes us to preach the Word of God in season and out of season.

God is fully aware of the decline of the nations. He sees the immorality of the people just as he did when Moses was on the mountain. The people grew impatient, forgetting the mercy and grace of God who’d brought them out of the bondage of Egypt. They began to rise up and play, living corrupt and involving themselves in every sin they could imagine. God was not playing with their sin back then and He is still not playing with sin in our lives.

Here’s the Real Problem

In our attempt to be inclusive, we forgot about holiness and have compromised our faith in God. We do not want to offend others, but we quickly offend God when we accept the sin that others promote. Have we stopped and asked God what He thinks about what we are doing? Are we totally sure that our actions are in line with the Word of God?

The real problem is the sin in our lives. Each man or woman is in desperate need of salvation. Man has become proud and selfish. Every day, the acts of sin grow worse because the heart of man is turned away from God. We are quick to deal with the lying or the adultery, but we are so hesitant to tell the self-righteous that they need to repent and turn to Christ. The problem is that sin has crept in our lives, in our homes, our churches, and lives undetected because people have devalued their prayer lives and have disregarded the power of the Word of God.

We Still Have Power Over the Enemy

Arise, people of God! Let us continue to use the weapons of our warfare to fight this fight. We still have power. We have authority and sin shall not have dominion over the people that place their faith in God and walk in submission to His will. Through fasting and prayer, we can even shatter the sex trafficking rings.

We can break the confusion of those who have lost their identity. The prayers of a righteous man avail much. Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound. Keep your focus on God and not this world. Donโ€™t get distracted by what you see. The Christian who prays and seeks God is still a very real threat to the kingdom of the enemy. Do not lose sight of the God that lives within. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the World.
