The Great Reset Already Happened in China. We’re Next

By Jason Scott Jones Published on March 7, 2024

I’m in a new movie that’s coming out: Hollywood Takeover. This Epoch Times production exposes the frightening lengths to which the Chinese Communist Party has gone to dominate our media in order to censor criticism of its vast human rights violations. This is being done in an effort to build up the “soft power” such a regime really needs to dominate in the world.

But there’s an even deeper message to the movie: That tyranny is never just 6,000 miles away. In fact, it’s coming ever closer to home.

Young people today are taught that we’ve made vast “progress” over past generations. We look back at the benighted past, tut-tutting over long-dead authoritarian regimes, obsolete forms of slavery, and past racial genocides. Thank the Universe we don’t have to face such evils in our time, teachers tell them — before warning them that “Christian Nationalists” are the new threat to decency and freedom.

Such propaganda for the present ignores the heart-rending truth: We face the same old evils in new and even more sinister forms around the world today. What’s worse, we’re confronted with global elites who collude in such atrocities and want to impose them on once-free countries in contempt of their citizens’ wishes.

That’s the Great Reset, which The Stream has warned about for years and which my new book aims to expose and thwart. Inspired by the apparent “success” of the racist dictatorship ruling over China, billionaire technocrats wish to confiscate our liberties and micromanage our lives — all in the name of “building back better.” But the parallels plainly link the agenda preached at Davos, in the Vatican, and among U.S. “progressives” to China’s current tyrannical practices.

China Has a Fȕhrer

China calls itself a “people’s republic,” but in fact it is a classic dictatorship along the lines of fascist Italy, ruled by a self-appointed political sect, the Communist Party. Xi Jinping ascended the CCP ranks to assume the role of president and has changed the country’s laws so he can rule for life if he wishes.

There are no limits on his power. There are no checks and balances. Xi has more power than any Chinese emperor ever wielded, making the rule of law a bitter joke. Free speech does not exist, nor independent churches. Citizens’ lives are closely controlled by “social credit scores,” which turn every neighbor into a potential spy for the CCP.

China’s Conducting a Holocaust

The most horrifying example of human rights atrocities in China is the ongoing genocide of the Uyghur people. This minority Muslim population in occupied East Turkistan has endured systematic persecution by the CCP. Uyghurs are subjected to constant surveillance, forced assimilation, and religious persecution. The goal is simply to wipe them out as a people, much as the Germans sought to eliminate entire “inferior” races like the gypsies and the Jews.

More than a million Uyghurs now rot in state internment camps. More than 400 Uyghur women, including some over 80 years old, have been unjustly imprisoned since 2014 by the Chinese authorities simply for expressing their religious beliefs through their attire and sharing religious knowledge.

Reports of forced sterilizations and mandatory birth control targeting Uyghur women underscore the extent of China’s cruelty. The international community has repeatedly called for investigations into these atrocities, with mounting evidence pointing to crimes against humanity. China simply shrugs and denies this modern Holocaust. Big corporations allegedly dedicated to “diversity, equity, and inclusion” gleefully profit from slave labor in China’s work camps. The international black market in human organs is glutted with kidneys and livers cut from the living bodies of China’s political prisoners, then sold by the regime, as Forbes has reported. (In the U.S., of course, our National Institutes of Health uses organs taken from aborted babies, while Planned Parenthood profits from selling such organs.)

Genocide Without Borders

No place is safe, even for those who escape Chinese soil. In 2023, 40 Chinese police officers were charged in “transnational repression schemes” targeting U.S. residents in New York and elsewhere in the U.S. Researchers say the CCP is trying to make Uyghurs living abroad spy on human rights activists by threatening their families back in their home country.

Zumrat Dawut, a Uyghur concentration camp survivor, now lives in the U.S. After she spoke out about the atrocities she witnessed in China’s concentration camps, her father was interrogated, imprisoned, and died mysteriously in police custody. At the time, then Secretary Mike Pompeo called on Beijing to “cease all harassment of Uighurs living outside of China … and to allow families to communicate freely without repercussions.” Many such abductions have happened to the relatives of Uyghurs who live in the U.S. A University of Sheffield academic study contacted 200 Uyghurs living in several countries and found out that most of them were victims of this “genocide without borders.”

Documents leaked earlier this year reveal how Chinese authorities use various methods to spy on dissidents overseas; hack other nations’ vital infrastructure and even police departments; hide state agents’ online activity; access people’s social media accounts; compromise emails; and promote a pro-Beijing narrative on all platforms. Two weeks ago, Turkey detained six people who were believed to be spying on Uyghurs for China.

Voice of America reports that the hacking agencies working for their spymasters in Beijing boast of their “access to hacked airline, cellular, and government data from countries like Mongolia, Malaysia, Afghanistan, and Thailand,” and how they market it to the CCP police.

Green Propaganda, a Brown Reality

China turns a blind eye to the way the rare earth mineral industry pollutes its water. That’s necessary in order to supply the raw material for global wind and solar energy infrastructure, as hyped by the Climate Cult around the world. Western media purposely turn a blind eye to these abuses, hypnotized as they are by the mantras of “sustainable” and “renewable” energy.

Did the World Economic Forum Learn from the CCP?

The rise of authoritarianism in the West closely follows the Chinese model. The Great Reset likewise aims to bury individual freedom, suppress or control free institutions, empower unelected elites, and subjugate the citizens in the name of “reforms” recommended by “experts.” Institutions such as the European Union and the CIA use censorship, disinformation, and spycraft to thwart the will of voters and nullify national sovereignty. The goal in Brussels and Langley is the same as what’s seen in Beijing: to concentrate power in the hands of the chosen few. So as we have seen in China, now we see in the West harsh restrictions on free speech, witch hunts targeting dissenters, and interference in elections.

The real campaign against dissent began during the manufactured COVID panic. It broke my heart to see the extreme measures long-free countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Great Britain blithely adopted. From selective quarantines (shutting down “nonessential” churches but keeping open abortion clinics and casinos) to frozen bank accounts, from outright censorship to the threat of “quarantine” camps for those who refused an experimental vaccine, the whole apparatus of dictatorship kicked in. And almost nobody protested. The trial run for tyranny was a runaway success.

Will we let our own ruling class continue to bully us and amass power until we have no means left to push back and must simply surrender?

God forbid. And He does forbid — so we must take risks and make sacrifices now for the sake of our children and grandchildren. Otherwise they will look back at us accusingly and ask, “Why didn’t you fight?” And we won’t have an answer, except to say, “Because I was afraid.”
