The NHL Has One Hero

“The Sexual State always goes too far,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “In attacking a hockey player for standing up for religious principles, it shows once again how much ordinary folks despise the sexual revolutionary agenda.”

Ivan Provorov, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Flyers, declined to wear an LGBTQ jersey on the team’s pride night last week. The Russian Orthodox player explained that he “couldn’t stay true to myself and my religion” by participating in this farce.

“And that’s where it should have ended,” Morse said. “Instead, Provorov was subjected to an outpouring of hatred for having the courage of his convictions. The hysteria was probably coordinated by proponents of ‘inclusion.’ One sportscaster even suggested that the player go back to Russia and take part in the war in Ukraine.”

“But it backfired. Provorov’s No. 9 Jersey has nearly sold out at several online stores,” Morse reported. “I guess some fans are reacting negatively to the bullying, and others are just plain sick of the arrogance of sexual radicals.”

A triumvirate has developed among government, business leaders, and activists all pushing the program of sexual radicals.

Morse explained: “Corporate America, including the management of sports teams, doesn’t seem to understand that there are consequences for embracing the woke agenda. The boardroom may pat itself on the back for its so-called tolerance. But customers and fans often react with disgust.”

Disney found this out the hard way, when it worked to repeal a Florida law preventing teachers from discussing sexual orientation and gender issues in kindergarten through third grade. The impact is being felt in Disney’s profits.”

“Slavish devotion to the values of the sexual state is bad business,” Morse said. “If sports teams like the Flyers want to intentionally alienate their patrons, well, be my guest.”

Contraception Almost Killed Me

The latest Dr. J Show guest is Samantha Stephenson, a Catholic wife and homeschooling mother of four, host of the podcast “Brave New Us,” and author of Reclaiming Motherhood from a Culture Gone Mad and the Mama Prays devotional.

Samantha almost died from her birth control when she developed deep vein thrombosis, a serious blood clot, which required immediate surgery. She later learned that her doctor could have tested for a predisposition for clotting.

“It should be a routine ask, at the very least. It’s a simple blood test to see, ‘Hey, is this drug that I’m prescribing you going to potentially kill you?’” If doctors did that test, they would know that blood clots, which could lead to heart attacks, strokes, and pulmonary embolism, could result from birth control. These effects have been well documented, but people don’t talk about them.”

Now Samantha is a big proponent of fertility awareness, which means recognizing the signs and stages of fertility within your body to time intercourse to either achieve or avoid pregnancy.

After charting her cycle for a few months, a NaPro technician (one form of fertility awareness) was able to determine that Samantha’s earlier “need” for birth control was due to endometriosis. One procedure took care of that.

“You have to search for them, but there are [NaPro] doctors out there who are trained to address the underlying medical issues that contraception just covers over and is a blanket answer to.”

Samantha’s book, Reclaiming Motherhood, “is an attempt to call out the big lies of our culture, about who we are as human beings, the meaning of life, and the purpose of suffering. Our culture tells us that it’s all about you. That you are your own sort of god, to be very self-glorifying, and to run from suffering. The goal of the book is to give people insight into the way that thinking permeates how we think about marriage and family and medical choices, especially those surrounding fertility.”

Watch Samantha explain not only what’s wrong with birth control, but also in vitro fertilization, and the new “synthetic humans” being created in labs!

Japan PM Warns of Demographic Decline Consequences

At the opening session of parliament this week, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said his country was “on the brink,” with grave consequences, if it didn’t reverse demographic decline, and pledged significant spending on children in the next budget.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., said, “Kishida is right to worry about the fate of his nation amidst the raging gales of Demographic Winter.”

“A total fertility rate is the number of children the average woman will have in her lifetime. A rate of 2.1 is needed to maintain population. At 1.36, Japan has one of the lowest rates on earth,” Morse explained.

“The Japanese government says annual births fell below 800,000 for the first time in 2022. That decline is only expected to accelerate. Fewer births mean fewer workers for everything from high-tech companies to general manufacturing. It also means fewer people paying into pensions and health care for the elderly. After Monaco, Japan has the world’s oldest population, with a median age of 49.”

“It’s the same everywhere,” Morse observed. “In November, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer cautioned: ‘We’re short of workers. We have a population that’s not reproducing on its own with the same level it used to.’”

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, AI software CEO Mihir Shukla observed: “The world operates on growth; all institutions operate on growth.” However, said Shukla, everyone at Davos agreed that there would be no further population growth, hence no economic growth, “for the next 20 years.”

Morse remarked: “These men are right to worry. Unfortunately, the problem won’t be solved by subsidies for children. Young people must want to marry and have children. This requires a major attitude adjustment about the value of family life. It also leads to an understanding that childbearing is part of the divine plan for the betterment of humanity.”
