We all owe a debt of gratitude to Elon Musk. That brave and civic-minded innovator actually believes in the founding creed of his adopted nation, America. He proved that with his purchase of Twitter and his insistence just this Friday on exposing that platform’s filthy secrets.

Musk showed us that, by 2020, Twitter had gone from a free speech space to a prime tool for coercion and thought control, in coordination with our country’s degenerate ruling class and corrupt secret police. Social media in America are no freer than the newspapers in North Korea, or the Internet in Iran.

Musk released Twitter’s internal records to left-wing whistleblower journalist (and First Amendment purist) Matt Taibbi. His task? To expose how Twitter perverted its own structure and policies to hijack the 2020 election. What Taibbi found was not so much a smoking gun as a burning armory. Biden Said “Jump!” Twitter Asked “How High?”

The Western Journal writes:

As documents released on Twitter appear to indicate that Twitter became a tool of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election campaign, Elon Musk summed up his disgust with what was revealed.

On Friday, journalist Matt Taibbi shared a communication illustrating how complaints were received.

“One executive would write to another: ‘More to review from the Biden team.’ The reply would come back: ‘Handled,’” he posted on Twitter, leading Musk to reply.

“If this isn’t a violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment, what is?” Musk wrote.

There are many, many instances proving what happened, but the story is really that simple.

No, Twitter didn’t squelch all mention of the Hunter Biden laptop, and the New York Post story reporting it, because of any “policy” regarding allegedly “hacked materials.”

Twitter didn’t ban conservatives for actually violating its policies, as it pretended. 

Twitter answered to the Biden campaign and its leftist allies, obeyed their requests, and silenced their critics. It did so over and over and over again, confident that the company would suffer zero consequences.

Nobody Suffers for Giving the Deep State a Foot Massage

After all, would any of the people in the FBI who’d hidden that laptop, or lied to America that it was “Russian disinformation” face any penalty? No more than those who lied under oath and broke the law to invent the Russia “collusion” hoax or frame Gen. Mike Flynn. At worst, the Republicans in Congress like Jim Jordan who depend on massive donations from companies like Google might wag a finger at them.

The backlash against Elon Musk and Matt Taibbi for exposing these facts has already started. The Blaze reports some of the choicest outbursts of venom provoked (let us be crystal clear) simply by making public the records of a company Musk purchased, and revealing its political activities. That’s it.

Imagine a leftist billionaire had bought Fox News, and he dug up old records that showed its news department had skewed reporting at the request of Trump’s White House press office. If he released those records, he’d be acclaimed as a hero. Musk and Taibbi expose when Democrats do this, and here’s just some of what gets said about them:

• “Matt Taibbi … what sad, disgraceful downfall. I swear, kids, he did good work back in the day,” Daily Best columnist Wajahat Ali noted. “Should be a cautionary tale for everyone. Selling your soul for the richest white nationalist on Earth.
• “Matt Taibbi always was, and still remains, a fraud,” Democratic pollster and strategist Matt McDermott noted. “Doing PR for the richest person in the world should come as no surprise.”
• “Imagine throwing it all away to do PR work for the richest person in the world,” NBC senior reporter Ben Collins tweeted. “Humiliating s**t.”

And so on. This public lynching was intended to punish Taibbi and deter future dissident journalists, in just the way Rep. Maxene Waters called on future employers to punish anyone who’d ever worked for the Trump administration, and major law firms now blackball attorneys who oppose abortion and LGBT crusades in court on behalf of clients.

The White Blood Cells of Our Body Politic

As I watched all this unfold, I realized that none of this reads like actual journalism or politics. The story of what Twitter did to help steal our election, and what elites now are doing now to permanently silence dissenters? It’s more like something out of a biology textbook.

We see here mirrored the magnificent, complex “cascade” that begins when the human immune system detects a foreign invader in the bloodstream. Immediately, the intruder is surrounded and attacked by a variety of antibodies and other natural defenses. As one NIH document sums this system up:

Inflammatory responses arise as an outcome of tissues or organs exposure towards harmful stimuli like injury, toxic chemicals or pathogenic microorganism. It is a complex cascade of immune mechanism to overcome from tissue injury and to initiate the healing process by recruiting various immune cells, chemical mediators such as the vasoactive peptides and amines, pro-inflammatory cytokines, eicosanoids and acute-phase proteins … .

Yes, that’s what’s happening. Nobody on the left is looking at the evidence, weighing the arguments, questioning whether social media companies ought to try to skew presidential elections. They don’t care about ideas, or values, or principles, any more than the t-cells inside your body do. They’re barely human beings at this point, but more like biological mechanisms carrying out their functions. Those in our elites no longer answer to conscious human standards. They simply follow their programming: “Intruder: Alert!” and “Search and Destroy.”

But this isn’t a healthy immune system we’re looking at. That kind of system would discover actual pathogens that endanger the health of the body politic — for instance, a vice president who uses his drug-addicted son as the bagman for corrupt deals with Chinese Communist spymasters. Or journalists who lie about news stories because the facts don’t fit their political views. Or media executives who corrupt their own platforms and sabotage their basic functions as open forums, turning them instead into brainwashing tools. That kind of thing.

Instead, our society’s immune system is attacking healthy cells and vital tissue. It’s suppressing truthful news and silencing real debates and whipping up frenzies of hatred against the innocent and principled.

It took an outsider like Elon Musk to diagnose the problem. Is there a cure by natural means for a patient who’s this far gone? Or can we plunge a whole country into the healing waters at Lourdes?
