Terror in Paris and the US Election

Friday’s terror attack in Paris has shifted national security and counter-terrorism to the forefront of the 2016 presidential campaign. The Republican candidates have in almost one voice denounced President Obama’s efforts to fight Islamic State — or lack thereof. And starting with their debate Saturday night on CBS, Democrats Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley have been forced to move away from domestic issues onto the tougher turf of explaining what they’d be doing as commander-in-chief.
