On Monday, August 27, Stream founder James Robison joined a distinguished group of evangelical leaders at a formal dinner at the White House hosted by President Trump and the first lady. The President invited the group to openly share and pray. What follows is an expression of gratitude to God for the positive progress we are seeing. 

As a father, grandfather, and great grandfather, I speak to you with a broken heart for our nation. I can identify with Jeremiah 9:1, which says, “Oh that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!”

I have been weeping over this nation for more than a decade, encouraging and inviting leaders to come together from various evangelical groups who are united in their biblical worldview and love for our heavenly Father and our neighbors.

These truly courageous church leaders have stood unwaveringly together as a clear answer to the prayer of Jesus in John 17. We have prayed together and wept over a nation that has become spiritually, politically, and socially sick in many ways. It is one of the most beautiful, amazing things I have witnessed in my 75-year journey here on earth. The love that these great leaders have for God and one another enables them to offer wise counsel.

We have seen the effect of that counsel in the positive decisions and policies that are being put into place to correct the serious ills in our nation. Opportunity abounds. Law and order has returned to the forefront. The lie of socialism and damaging, foolish dependence on the federal government has been exposed. Religious freedom is being protected.

Praying for — and With — the President 

Before and after his election, this President not only asked all of us to pray for him, but to pray with him and to share our deep concerns for the well being and future of freedom and our great nation. We are seeing great progress. As He always does, God is using imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will. We must give credit and glory to God for answered prayers and the healing of our land.

Anyone with spiritual sensitivity realizes that we are witnessing spiritual warfare at the highest levels. The screaming and yelling at the Judge Kavanaugh confirmation hearing is coming across like nothing short of demonic outrage.  It sounds like something you would hear in an institution where people have to be restrained.

In the invisible realm of the Spirit, there are two fathers whose very nature prevails today: one is the father of lies, dissension, division, death and destruction; the other is the Creator who is the Father of life and truth and unshakable, rock-solid principles upon which we must build in order for our lives and futures to securely stand.

How Do We Continue This Momentum? 

How do we continue this momentum? Keep praying. Keep giving glory to God. Pray a hedge of protection around our national leaders, including the president and his family, the vice president, all of the cabinet members, everyone in Congress, and every leader with local and national responsibilities.

Pray for the safety of our law enforcement officers and their families. Pray for our armed forces and their families. Pray for healing to continue. Don’t argue about individuals and personalities and throw darts at one another. Stop the nonsense, and pray for the Prince of Peace and His presence to prevail in our lives and in the land. Pray that we will have justices on every court that understand the Constitution and the principles of our founders. 

In prayer and thanksgiving, praise God for all that is being accomplished in answer to prayer.

Stay informed, stay involved, and wisely choose the most principled leaders on November 6. All positive momentum gained will be brought to a halt if those opposing a biblical worldview, the preciousness of life, the opportunities only freedom offers and the intentions of the liberal progressive, socialist mindset gain the majority.
