Paul Ryan, Tim Scott to Host GOP Candidate Forum on Poverty

By Published on September 21, 2015

Republican presidential campaigns will receive invitations Monday to attend an upcoming poverty forum moderated by House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan and Sen. Tim Scott in South Carolina.

The setting for the half-day conference is the Kemp Forum on Expanding Opportunity, hosted by the Jack Kemp Foundation. The forum is scheduled for Jan. 9, 2016 in Columbia, South Carolina at the Columbia Convention Center.

Official invites to all the candidates in the field go out Monday, according to Ryan’s office. Organizers said they had received interest from most of the top-tier candidates, but declined to name which campaigns. “Scholars and community leaders” will also be invited, according to a press release announcing the forum.
