The Pro-Life Reporter Who Can’t Be Silenced

The latest Dr. J Show features John-Henry Westen, co-founder and editor-in-chief of LifeSiteNews.com and host of the weekly John-Henry Westen Show. He shares his conversion story of not believing in God to becoming fully invested in his faith. The example of holy parents and holy friends is so important, he says. “Even when your kids go totally off the rails like I did, your example of fidelity … of being there for your children in love but also in truth … even when it’s hard to do [makes all the difference].”

Hear how John-Henry gave up a promising career in psychology to become a “paper boy,” as his father-in-law put it, which led to the founding of Life Site News 25 years ago. Discover how the organization has grown and why it was shut down by YouTube. Also, if you need a crowd-funding platform, check out LifeFunder.com as an alternative to the biased GoFundMe.

Students for Life Founder to Speak at Ruth Inst. Summit

Kristan Hawkins, Founder and President of Students for Life of America, will be the keynote speaker for the Awards Banquet at the Ruth Institute’s 5th Annual Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution June 24-25 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Hawkins is a grassroots activist, author, speaker, podcast host, and human rights advocate. As president of Students for Life of America and Students for Life Action, she has trained more than 100,000 activists, and transformed a few dozen student groups scattered around the country into a coordinated team that serves 1,200+ Students for Life chapters in all fifty states.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., said, “We are so fortunate to have Kristan as our banquet speaker. Since the Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision in a case which could modify or overturn Roe v. Wade, it’s an exciting time for those of us fighting for life and the family.”

One the themes of this year’s Summit is learning from past successes, including those of the pro-life movement. Another speaker is Apostle Arnold M. Culbreath, who worked closely with pro-life pioneer Dr. Jack Wilke at the inception of the pro-life movement.

“The fight for marriage, the family, and gender sanity — all issues we’ll cover at our Summit — are aligned with the right to life,” Morse said. “Kristan and her organization have being doing exemplary work on behalf of the unborn.”

The theme of this year’s Summit is “Fighting for Your Family: Arming You for Success.” In accordance with that theme, Dr. Morse will present a 15-minute defense of traditional Christian sexual ethics. Participants will receive a thumb drive with a copy of the presentation, including the PowerPoint slides, and a FAQ section.

“Anyone will be able to use this talk,” Morse explained. “It will equip them to counter the ideas that threaten the family, including abortion, divorce, transgenderism, the Gender Ideology, and all the rest of the Sexual Revolution.”

“Traditional Christian sexual ethics, rightly understood and explained, is the key to winning on all these issues. With this talk in hand, participants will be able to answer the questions of even their most skeptical friends and family,” Morse said.

“School board elections across the country show that adults are ready to take up the challenge of protecting children from the depredations of the Sexual Revolution. If you have the will to fight for the family, we’ll show you the way.”

Registration for the Summit is now open.

How to Tell When Something is Natural or Artificial

At the 2021 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution, Fr. Sebastian Walshe spoke on natural inclinations versus conscious desires. Hear him breakdown the difference between something that is part of our good and natural being, and something that is simply an emotional construct. Learn how to defend the true nature of a human being and how this provides a solid argument against transgenderism.

“What’s good for something is tied to its nature … Nature is whatever a thing is supposed to be or become on its own,” Fr. Walshe says. “It’s important to distinguish a natural inclination from a conscious or emotional desire.”

“Is wanting to be in a different body than the one you were born with a natural inclination or a conscious desire? … Authentic charity and wellbeing is not to try to change their bodies to conform to their desires, but to help them change their desires to conform to their healthy and natural body.” Watch for the full explanation.
