Now Carson Tops Trump in Oklahoma, Too

Support for his positions on moral issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage help make Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson the top choice among Oklahoma GOP voters for now, new polling data says.

A poll of 500 registered voters conducted last week by The Oklahoman in partnership with Cole Hargrave Snodgrass & Associates, an Oklahoma City-based polling firm, found Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, finishing first in a field of 14 Republican candidates. Among registered Republicans polled, 25 percent said they support Carson. Real estate mogul Donald Trump came in second, with 19 percent.

No other Republican candidate polled in the double-digits. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio polled at 9 percent, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz received 7 percent.
