The Brew: Conservative Journalist Gloriously Trumps Woke Podcaster in Open Debate

Anti-racism is the new Golden Calf.

By John Zmirak Published on March 12, 2025

Canadian journalist (and recent convert to Catholicism) Sarah Stock recently schooled a particularly smug leftist podcaster who aped Charlie Kirk’s now-famous schtick of sitting down to dialogue with politically hostile college students — but in this case, Sam Seder hosts a podcast in which he takes on 20 conservatives who have to race each other to take the seat opposite him at the table, and then a chess-clock starts ticking on the debate. When Stock interacted with Seder, she made some blindingly obvious, historically accurate observations, and Seder’s responses were priceless. Seder follows a script that’s so standardized one might suspect it’s handed out on laminated cards in government schools:

  1. Ask stupid questions to set a trap. In this case: “Do you get to decide what’s the dominant culture in America?”
  2. Wait for a conservative or Christian to give the obvious answer: “America historically has been a predominantly white, Christian, European-based culture.”
  3. Act shocked and horrified, as if you’ve just seen someone wave a Nazi flag or dropkick a baby. “Your argument is that Trump is good for those that want a dominant white European culture.”
  4. Wait for the conservative or Christian to panic for fear that he’ll be canceled, ostracized, shamed, or rendered permanently unemployable.
  5. Sit back and snicker as your opponent cravenly caves.
  6. Rinse and repeat.

But Stock didn’t take that bait, and the results are glorious. Fast-forward to the 40-minute mark in the 90-minute video below (or just watch the whole thing!) to see the exchange for yourself:

Like Donald Trump or J.D. Vance, Sarah Stock tore up the script. She didn’t play by the rules. At Step 4, she failed to cave, refused to back down, and stuffed Seder’s answers back down his throat, citing straightforward facts and refusing his phony moralism.

Seder implied that it’s okay to admit that the U.S. was founded by mostly European colonists who were Christians, so long as you are ashamed of that fact, regard it as a scandal, and want to undo the damage as quickly as possible via open borders and DEI. Seder practically handed Stock a tray of ashes to dump over her head while she repented.

But she refused, ruining Steps 5 & 6 for him as well. So all he could do in the end was pronounce Stock “problematic,” which is Human Resources code for “gonna get you fired.”

The cringing “Stockholm Syndrome Christianity” that Discovery Institute Vice President John West analyzes so brilliantly depends on the kind of guilt, fear, and shame that Seder is selling. It’s thrilling to see young people like Stock refuse to bow before the Golden Calf of White Guilt as a replacement religion for Christianity.

If you’re not convinced that you’re dealing with a religious superstition here, ask yourself this: Are Nigerians or Japanese or especially Muslim Arabs expected to denounce their ancestors and repudiate their cultures as the price of not being literally Hitler in the same way Anglo-Saxon Christians are? If not, then why are descendants of persecuted English Pilgrims, peaceful Welsh Quakers, or starved Irish and Italian farmers expected to ritually abase themselves and agree to shatter their country? That’s what the Golden Calf demands.

And we must refuse it. We hold firm to the Christian doctrine of human equality before God, which is an important implication of the Gospel. But we reject the leftist insistence that this is the entirety of Christian belief, that “inclusiveness,” “tolerance,” and “social justice” matter more than the divinity of Christ, the sanctity of marriage, the value of unborn life, or the survival of our country — all of which leftists reject.

Here’s a bonus. Sarah Stock unpacks the blowback she (and Sam Seder) have received in the wake of that interview:

Will You Join Us in Interceding for America?

The faithful Christian citizens of Intercessors for America are harnessing the power of prayer for several critical issues that face our country. Here are just a few of the causes they’re holding up to the Lord, and the prayers they suggest we offer along with them:

  • The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a challenge to Colorado’s law banning “conversion therapy,” brought by a Christian therapist who feels the law impedes her First Amendment rights. God, we pray for wisdom for every Supreme Court justice as they prepare to hear this case. We pray they would stand boldly for our First Amendment rights.
  • The City of Huntington Beach is suing to overturn California’s sanctuary state laws protecting illegal immigrants, arguing they violate federal immigration laws and the state and federal constitutions. Father, we pray for an end to ungodly sanctuary policies that put communities at risk. We pray that this lawsuit would make Huntington Beach and California safe.
  • On Thursday, February 27, 2025, Iowa became the first U.S. state to remove transgender protections from its Civil Rights Acts. Lord, we thank You for this victory. We will continue to stand in the gap for our state and nation until we see Your Kingdom come and will be done. Amen.
  • A recent report found that former President Joe Biden used the same autopen signature on nearly every presidential action he signed. Now, many are wondering if his autopen signature was used without his authorization and, if so, whether his presidential actions are still valid. Lord, we pray for transparency and accountability. Let the truth about Biden and his many presidential actions come out, and let Your truth and justice reign.

It’s not dangerous “Christian Nationalism” to follow your faith and reason to sound conclusions about the wisest, most just solutions to social problems. In fact, that’s the very definition of “patriotism” according to our Founding Fathers, who to a man insisted that only a religiously awakened citizenry could possibly keep a thriving democracy alive. Don’t get discouraged, and don’t stop praying for your nation and your neighbors.

While we’re at it, let’s pray for the family of Jamie White, 36, who was brutally murdered this past Sunday while on assignment for Infowars, reporting on leftist violence in Austin, Texas. White’s editor, Alex Jones, blamed White’s shocking death on the crime-friendly policies of Austin’s George Soros-aligned district attorney, Jose Garza.

Trump Team Repurposes Illegal Alien App to Encourage Them to Go Home

Remember the Biden-era phone app CBPOne? It was designed to help facilitate the massive open-borders push the Democrats pursued in defiance of our federal laws.

Now some of the clever fellows Elon Musk must have hired over at DOGE have come up with a way to write straight with this crooked app. They’ve reinvented it as a way to help illegal immigrants go back home.

What’s so great about this? Not only does it help illegal aliens help the Trump administration accomplish its goals by deporting themselves, it offers them the choice between a carrot and a stick: Those who use it to go home (or at least, somewhere that isn’t the U.S.) will be offered the opportunity to come back legally at some point in the future; those who don’t will be hunted down to face justice and then permanently banned from our borders.

So not everything the Democrats left behind is just a pile of smoldering ruins surrounded by poop. Just most of it.

What’s Really Happening in Syria?

The Stream has reported extensively on the persecution of religious minorities in Syria, especially the Alawites and Christians, by the new al Qaeda-aligned government there. The U.S. and Russia yesterday called for an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council to address this violence. Is Western pressure having any impact on that regime’s actions?

Advocate for Syrian Christians Nadine Maenza analyzed a recent statement from the nation’s Islamist leader.

Syria’s new rulers are strongly backed by an imperialist Turkey, but they face the threat of Israeli intervention on behalf of Druze, Kurdish, and Syrian Christian minorities that could break the country up. Will the fear of such an outcome, which a Trump White House might support, force the new regime to rein in its jihadists and guarantee safety to all? If not, it’s hard to see how a unified, peaceful Syria will ever emerge.

Along The Stream…

Later this morning, check out what courageous canceled journalist Emerald Robinson has to report about President Donald Trump’s efforts to root out the Deep State, uproot the apparatus for election fraud, and reverse the damage of the past four years.

In the meantime, don’t miss Jules Gomes’s eye-opening report on how our “democratic allies” in Europe are silencing free speech, stifling Christian expressions of faith, and wielding all the old Cold War weapons we forged to fight Communism to persecute patriotic politicians.
