The Brew: CNN Blandly Reports That Anti-Trump Deep State Spooks May Hand U.S. Secrets to Foreign Powers

Some of the people most loudly claiming that Donald Trump is betraying American “values” and threatening our democracy (by imposing the people’s will on the deeply burrowed apparatchiks of the permanent government) are suspiciously silent about the latest threat to our security: Deep State employees who don’t agree with the voters and are willing to violate the oaths they took by handing U.S. secrets to foreign powers.

Neither I nor some angry podcaster is asserting that this might happen; it’s CNN, which reports this possibility without any signs of alarm. You’d think the network was announcing the dates of a forthcoming Beyonce concert tour.

Will we hear uber-patriots Mike Pence, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, or Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas denounce the prospect of intelligence agents smuggling U.S. secrets to spies of left-wing governments in Britain, France, or other powers that claim to be our allies but won’t pull their weight as they urge us to risk a nuclear war? Even worse, the British secret service aided the Russia-collusion hoax, directly interfering in U.S. elections. Will the same people who helped Hillary Clinton compile the Steele dossier now have access to sensitive American secrets? Will U.S. assets pay for this with their lives?

What our nation faces as Trump’s appointees try to drain the Swamp doesn’t track with national boundaries, since the villains of the story aren’t patriotic to countries. They’re loyal instead to a class — the self-selected “elites” of the U.S. and Europe, the carnivorous sheep who weaponize the once-free institutions their taxpayers fund and then use them to browbeat, censor, and demographically replace the grubby Deplorables of London, Paris, and Munich. John Brennan and James Clapper may have mouthed the words of an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, but the real commitment of people like them is to their fellow oligarchs around the world.

We must go on siding instead with the citizens.

Deep State Filth

The invaluable Christopher Rufo is exposing the abyss of filth that lies in the government-hosted chat rooms of many people working in the intelligence community, including the National Security Administration. We can’t reprint here the litany of fantastical sexual perversions, including the desire to breed hermaphroditic babies, that U.S. intelligence employees were advocating, justified by DEI initiatives inside the NSA. But if you want to know what Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino are now trying to deal with, follow Rufo’s darkly informative X account. Here’s a PG-rated sample:

What Was the Ukraine War Fever Really About?

Ask intelligence expert Mike Benz, and he’ll tell you: It was never about preserving a free people from persecution. The folks calling for the U.S. to spend billions of taxpayer dollars or to send American soldiers overseas to reverse Ukraine’s loss of territory to Russia didn’t squeak when Azerbaijan ethnically cleansed hundreds of thousands of Christians and dynamited their ancient churches. They don’t want to send billions to save the Uyghurs from China’s concentration camps. So what was really behind the Europe-wide and Beltway-heavy frenzy for shoving Ukraine into NATO, then arming it to the teeth — despite the risk of nuclear war?

Money, of course. Benz reports that what really turned U.S. foreign policy experts into Russia hawks was the prospect of trillions of dollars in energy profits, as when the Ukraine conflict forced Europe to shut off cheap Russian natural gas and turn instead to pricier alternatives of the kind offered by Burisma — where Hunter Biden conveniently happened to have joined the board of directors. That billion dollars in aid Biden threatened to withhold from Ukraine if it didn’t fire the man investigating Burisma? That money was apparently funneled through … wait for it … USAID.

The Biden crime family wasn’t even the main beneficiary of this massive international heist that has cost more than a million lives of mostly Christian Russians and Ukrainians. The Bidens were just the sock puppets, ever-pliable and eager to be of use; the architects of these policies are still mostly in place. They’re the ones screaming about the threat Elon Musk poses to “democracy” and “freedom.”

White House Press Briefings Will No Longer Be MSM Turkey Shoots, Karoline Leavitt Announces

In another blow to the fetishes of our smug ruling class, the White House is taking control of its press briefings instead of ceding the power to pick which journalists are admitted to the insiders club known as the White House Correspondents Association:

Notably, the White House has added a seat in the room to streaming services and other media outlets, and plans to expand its number. The media landscape continues to change in real time — permanently. Former Leftist Mega-Donor Nicole Shanahan Gets Baptized as a Christian

If you have ever doubted that God works in mysterious ways, ponder this: Even as in 2024 we were appalled by the emergence of the group Evangelicals for Harris, the Holy Spirit was working in other people’s lives, such as Nicole Shanahan’s. The vastly wealthy ex-wife of Google founder Sergey Brin, Shanahan had no deep religious commitment, apart from a diploma from a liberal Catholic school.

She instead poured herself into a long list of radical causes with an evangelical fervor. She gave generously to Hillary Clinton in 2016, then to far-left, Soros-linked Los Angeles district attorney candidate George Gascón in 2020. In the same year she donated to Marianne Williamson, Pete Buttigieg, and then Joe Biden.

But as someone suspicious of Big Pharma and its impact on Americans’ health, Shanahan turned finally to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., whom she joined as running mate in his third-party presidential bid last year.

Shanahan stuck with RFK, Jr., after he dropped out of the race and allied with Donald Trump, and has been one of the most principled voices in the Make America Healthy Again movement. She also favors and funds women’s health initiatives designed to extend fertility as a better alternative to the sloppy, amoral IVF industry.

But none of that prepared us for the happy fact Shanahan just announced on her X account: The witness of faithful Christians in her life wooed her to accept Jesus as her Savior, and moved her to get baptized recently. Go read the happy story for yourself, but here’s a sample:

Many people shy away from acknowledging the reality of spiritual warfare. But anyone who has seen addiction up close or lived through deep trauma and witnessed how evil takes hold in this world knows that the battle of good versus evil isn’t just theoretical — it’s real and all around us.

Demons certainly exist, and Jesus is our covenant with God to fight them. When I said “yes” to accepting Jesus as my Savior, I felt something I could hardly put into words. It was like being wrapped in a warm cocoon while becoming a grounded, weighted, immovable obelisk.

I’ve long practiced meditative prayer, influenced by years of practicing yoga, studying Eastern religions, and engaging in “personal development” through programs like the Hoffman Process. But now, my prayers are directed toward Jesus. He is the bridge between us and heaven — our Intercessor before the Divine Creator.
