The Brew: Brave News World
Many people are still asking, “How did Kamala Harris lose the 2024 election?” A lot of people are actually putting the blame not on the obvious failures of Marxist policies, including the failed economy and exponentially more dangerous society created by open borders under the Biden-Harris administration, but on social media — specifically, the fact that it provides information from conservative news outlets and influencers.
For instance, take this video of Scott Jennings rocking the boat on CNN: Jennings, “[X] is now the most ideologically balanced user platform of any platform.”
CNN: "Who's your source that 𝕏 is more balanced than any other platform?"
Jennings: "Uh, CNN" pic.twitter.com/kJL2avT8dO

Guess CNN didn’t like being reminded that they cited this Pew Research study:

It’s pretty bad news for CNN and others when your talking point is disrupted by your own reporting.
If you’re a reader of The Stream, you’re likely already aware of the changing landscape in news consumption. In fact, the above graph is born out of the Pew Research Center’s report, America’s News Influencers, which found that one in five Americans regularly gets their news from a “news influencer” on social media. Interestingly, most of these influencers (77%) aren’t affiliated with news outlets or have a background in journalism. We’d be scared of this data, too, if we were a mainstream outlet!
But we’re not, so we say “bravo” to anyone willing to think for themselves and research the topics they wish to learn about rather than listening blindly to the garble of information coming from the likes of Rachel Maddow or Joe Scarborough. Social media even comes with the benefit of being part of the conservation on the controversy of the day.
Bad at Math
Just how desperate are things at the Democratic Party after the election? Bad enough for the DNC Staff Union to create a GoFundMe account to help the 2/3 of their employees they just laid off. According to the Union, “The funds raised will be distributed equally to any laid-off member who opts in to receive funds. We hope these funds can soften the economic blow for those impacted.”
We don’t find the layoffs funny, nor the need to raise funds for the people impacted by them. Hopefully, the DNC will make things right with these employees. In the meantime, Harris and Walz could ask their many celebrity friends for handouts (oops, donations).
In fact, just asking Oprah and Beyonce alone to return the money they received for doing pretty much nothing during Kamala Harris’s campaign would yield approximately $12.5 million, if all the rumors are actually true. Say that 2/3 equaled 220 people, that would give each of them $56,818.18. And if the Union preferred to give them just a decent severance package rather than the average annual salary of a social media influencer, they’d have money left over — unlike Kamala Harris’s campaign coffers. She wound up $25 million in the hole despite raising over $1 billion before the election.
What Women Think
It would take no effort at all for AOC or anyone who came to the defense of Congresswoman Sarah McBride (D-DE) over the bathroom issue to take the time to listen to women’s concerns about biological men invading their spaces. In fact, a lot of women took to social media to comment on this phenomenon, airing logical and practical concerns that were absent from the conversation on Capitol Hill.
To explain — no, that would take too long — to sum up, we would like to offer a partial list, previously published elsewhere, of “Things Women Have To Think About Daily That Men Don’t”:
- Choosing between the quick dark route or the long well-lit one. Yes, women create a mental map of the safest route to their destination, as well as a self-defense plan.
- Making requests sound nice enough to avoid being called bossy. Admit it, if you receive an email from a female boss or coworker that sounds overly confident or doesn’t have an almost incessant amount of “please” and “thank you,” you think she’s being “bossy.”
- Making sure your dress won’t reveal too much while also looking professional. Modesty is the best policy. However, the mental hoops of trying to dress professionally but not too attention-grabbing is a real struggle. Add to that the calculations of how much walking the day will require as a source of determining the day’s shoe choice.
- Creating invisible barriers on public transport. Be it a coat, backpack, or shopping bags, women prefer to maintain boundaries without being confrontational with people who ignore social distancing etiquette.
- Never leaving your drink unattended and going to the bathroom with a friend. This means holding it (either in your hand or in your bladder, as the situation requires).
- Double-checking every door and window before going to bed. Even down to making sure your phone is nearby, and you remember where you left your keys.
These might sound like complaints or proof that women are “high maintenance.” The reality is that we don’t want to think this way, but we’ve learned that we need to think this way to maintain our safety and well-being. So just passing some common-sense rules — whether in Capitol Hill or in public school restrooms — that keeps facilities segregated by biological gender shouldn’t be a matter of controversy, even in twenty-first-century America.
Good Marketing
Recently, we brought to your attention the uber-woke Jaguar ad that strongly brings The Hunger Games to mind but never even shows viewers an image of a car (which is ostensibly what they’re there to buy). Somebody needs to give Jaguar the name of the company in charge of marketing and public relations over at Volvo. Ten points to you if you can get through this entire clip without tearing up!
I'm not crying, you're crying!

As the Mandalorian would say, “This is the way.”

Tucker Carlson had a demonic encounter he thought was just a bad dream until he woke up to discover the scratches on his body were real. Many people suffer from experiences like Carlson’s but write the “sleep demon” off as a symptom of a sleep disorder. But Angelos Kyriakides calls this what it is, saying, “As Christians we don’t need to evade the obvious. Our worldview doesn’t outlaw the supernatural; it explains it.”
"The world may scoff at Carlson’s story, but from a biblical point of view it makes perfect sense. God often uses afflictions, whether natural or spiritual, to wake people from the slumber of lukewarm faith." @a_kyriak @TuckerCarlson https://t.co/xl6nI3bd4K

Everyone has a wish list for the incoming (returning) Trump administration, and we’re no different. Will you please join us in praying for these four crucial corrections? As Jennifer Roback Morse writes, “Please, Mr. Trump and the Republican Party, let’s get this done! This is what we hired you all to do.” Check out her wish list here:
Dear Trump Administration, can you please correct these mistakes:
1. Release and Pardon Political Prisoners
2. Unwind the Biden Administration’s Gender Insanity
3. Launch a Blue-Ribbon Commission to Investigate the Biden Dementia Cover-Up
4. Secure Our Elections via Voter ID…

We rocked the boat on social media with Dr. Michael Brown’s article on “Artificial Intelligence and the Mind of God.” Join the conversation over at X.
Can AI give us the tiniest glimpse into the mind of God? @DrMichaelLBrown https://t.co/IFxNXdDDla

It’s hard for us to grapple with just how omnipotent God is, but Dr. Brown’s experience with AI was a window to an important question. “The knowledge base of these AI bots is incomprehensibly large, their ability to flow from language to language absolutely stunning, and their speed in responding truly breathtaking. What’s more, one million of us could ask one million questions to the same AI bot at the same time and we would each get a personalized, instant answer. How much more, then, does this apply to the mind of God?”
Infinitely more, Dr. Brown. Infinitely more.
