Sunny Side of The Stream: How has 10 Years of Clean Water Changed the Lives of These Boys?

Last week I wrote about Christmas Shoes and Smiles, an outreach of LIFE Outreach International. (LIFE Outreach is our parent organization.) This week we received a beautiful photo update from another one of LIFE Outreach’s missions, Water for Life.

John Yeatts, LIFE’s Director of Missions, is out on the field. He emailed this photo to LIFE Outreach staff of boys at a 10-year-old well. These boys are enjoying what we in the West often take for granted: clean, life-giving water.

How old are these boys in comparison to the well? Maybe a few are around the same age. Maybe one is a few years older. The youngest looks about 5. According to an article by the U.N., children under the age of 5 “are on average more than 20 times more likely to die from illnesses linked to unsafe water and bad sanitation, than from conflict.”

I wonder what stories they, and especially their parents, could tell about the impact of the well on their lives. How many children in this village were lost because of diseases from unclean drinking water?

Because people like you have given financially to make this well a reality for these boys, they don’t have to drink filthy water that will make them sick. They have a better chance to grow up and have their own children. Only God knows fully the generational impact of this well.

Praise God for our generous donors and the wells built to benefit children like these! You too can support Water for LIFE by clicking the button below:

Twitter Roundup

Here’s some bright spots from Twitter.

A WWII Vet sings “How Great Thou Art.”

This is so hilarious and amazing. She has talent.

Lila Rose got to share the pro-life message on Dr. Phil. She was amazing, despite opposition.

Dogs and children hugging:

Saved!

We can actually see where this rainbow ends (or gets closest to the ground)! And it’s in one spot, not two. I wonder what you would see if you stood in that spot.

He’s such a good sport about it, too:

I followed the advice of the person who posted and watched a different child every time it replayed. Each is on his own hilarious adventure:

Hope you have a great weekend!
