It Is Settled. He Is Risen.

It does not matter how dark the day. It does not matter how hopeless the situation. It does not matter how bleak the circumstances. Jesus has risen from the dead! That’s all you need to know.

The resurrection of Jesus means…

It means death has been conquered.

It means the power of Satan has been broken.

It means light has triumphed over darkness.

It means that every word the Lord has spoken will come to pass.

It means it’s not too late for the salvation of every human being, no matter how far they have fallen and no matter what sins they have committed.

Jesus has risen from the dead!

Which means His death on the cross was totally efficacious: every sin has been paid for.

We can be cleansed and forgiven.

We can start a brand new life.

We can be liberated from slavery to the flesh.

Our time of alienation has come to an end — if only we will turn to the Lord with heart and soul and ask for mercy and redemption.

Jesus’ Claims Are Proved

While Jesus was on the earth, He made many audacious claims.

He claimed to be the only way to God.

He claimed to be one with His heavenly Father.

He claimed to be the Bread of Life, the Good Shepherd, the Gate, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life.

He claimed that heaven and earth would pass away, but His words would never pass away.

He claimed that He would die as a ransom for our sins — the perfect and innocent One making the full payment for our guilt — and that He would rise on the third day. And He did! Jesus has risen from the dead! Nothing could keep Him in the grave.

And That is Why We Hope

But not only did He die and rise. He also ascended to heaven, now sitting at the right hand of the Father, with all authority in heaven and earth given to Him.

That’s why the lost are still found in Jesus’ name.

That’s why sinners are still redeemed in Jesus’ name.

That’s why lives are still transformed in Jesus’ name.

That’s why the sick are still healed in Jesus’ name.

And that’s why, one day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus the Messiah is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

And that’s also how we know that one day He will return, this time not as a servant but as the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. And when He returns, He will destroy His enemies, deliver His people, and establish His kingdom, right here on the earth.

One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus the Messiah is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus has risen from the dead.

That’s why we can be sure that everything He promised will happen, that He will never leave us or forsake us, and that His purposes for our lives will come to pass.

Right now, you might be going through the toughest time of your life. Your heart may be breaking over the loss of a loved one or friend. Your body may be racked with pain. Your mind may be tormented with uncertainty and fear.

But Jesus has risen from the dead, which means there is glorious, wonderful light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, it means that there is actually light right in the middle of the darkest, longest tunnel.

Look to Him today. He is alive, and He is near to the broken-hearted. Put your trust in Him, and you will never be disappointed.

Jesus the Lord has risen!
