SERVERGATE: A Ticking Time Bomb for Hillary

By Rachel Alexander Published on September 10, 2015

The Servergate saga continues, with no end in sight during a crucial time in Hillary Clinton’s run for president. A Google News search on Hillary Clinton’s name reveals mostly Servergate stories in a cluster at the top of the first results. MSNBC observed that the House Benghazi committee is like an ongoing fishing expedition (that never ends), and the FBI’s investigation could conclude any day or keep going for a year. At the same time, several organizations, including Judicial Watch, have filed lawsuits demanding her emails, which are slowly being released to the public.

Every few days more potentially incriminating details emerge. This past week, a former State Department staffer who set up the private email server in Hillary Clinton’s home said he will plead the Fifth to avoid being forced to testify in front of the House Benghazi committee. Bryan Pagliano, who also worked on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, said through lawyers that that the Fifth Amendment protects “innocent men … who otherwise might be ensnared by ambiguous circumstances.’” Clinton paid Pagliano separately in a private capacity to set up the secret server, and he failed to list the outside source of income on the financial disclosure forms he was required to file each year, something that could lead to criminal charges.

Clinton’s campaign released the following statement this past week, again contradicting reports from intelligence agencies that there were classified emails found within her private email, “We have been confident from the beginning that Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email was allowed and that she did not send or receive anything marked classified, facts confirmed by the State Department and the Inspector General.”

Her statement is even more bizarre considering a second review of her emails by the CIA and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. They confirmed that the inspector general for the intelligence agencies’ initial assessment was correct: she did have top secret emails on her personal server. Top secret emails are much more sensitive than merely classified. And in any case,  an executive order issued by President Barack Obama stated that all “foreign government information is presumed to cause damage to the national security” and is therefore presumed classified. Either Hillary Clinton was an utterly incompetent employee of the State Department, and so unfit for our highest office, or she’s lying.

The latest batch of emails released reveals that while Clinton was secretary of state, she did a favor for a for-profit education company, which coincidentally paid her husband $16 million shortly afterward. She planned a private dinner with herself, some State Department staffers, and about a dozen people involved with higher education. Laureate Education Senior Vice President Joseph Duffey was one of those fortunate enough to be invited. A few months later, Bill Clinton was given the honorary position as Laureate’s chancellor. As an honorary chancellor, he probably did nothing for the school other than lend his name.

Hot Air notes that Clinton previously said she wants to crack down on for-profit schools receiving federal aid. If Hillary had been a Republican congressman, she probably would have been investigated and indicted. Former Congressman Rick Renzi was sentenced to prison for three years merely for a federal land swap, even though he would have made zero profit had it gone through.

Speaking of Bill Clinton, it now appears that Hillary’s claim that she deleted around 30,000 emails off her private server because they were personal — such as private emails between herself and her husband — was another lie. Bill Clinton doesn’t use email, and is reported to have sent only one email in his life.

The 55,000 emails Clinton has turned over so far were printed out, so there was no metadata on them. The investigative organization Judicial Watch has now updated its lawsuit to request the metadata too.

As the lies and signs of criminality continue to pile up, Hillary’s chances of becoming the Democratic nominee for president are shrinking. Bernie Sanders just increased his lead over her in New Hampshire, 41% to 32%. Democratic strategists are getting nervous, as recent polls show she is losing in the general election to Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and tied with Ben Carson. But many think she cannot stop the lying because there is something bigger she is hiding in the deleted emails, related to corruption involving the Clinton Foundation. Time will tell.
