Disney Fires a Bigot and Hires a Bigot

Roseanne Barr, left. Keith Olbermann, right.

By Michael Brown Published on May 29, 2018

Did you see the latest headlines? ESPN, owned by the Disney Company, has fired Keith Olbermann for sending out an extremely ugly tweet attacking President Trump. Yet in a brazen display of hypocrisy, Disney-ABC has hired Roseanne Barr after she sent out a bigoted, racist tweet against a former adviser to President Obama. Or did I get that wrong?

Yes, I got that quite wrong. But I think you get the point. And the double standard is glaring.

But what else is new? Bigotry against the left is indefensible. “You’re fired!” Bigotry against the right is justifiable. “You’re hired!” One is condemned. The other is commended.

Keith Olbermann

It was no surprise, then, that ESPN recently rehired the radically-left leaning Olbermann, despite his extreme anti-Trump rhetoric and his history of conservative-bashing.

As noted by Brian Flood, “Olbermann has been among the most outspoken critics of the president in the entire media industry, even moving out of his luxury New York City apartment building because it was owned by Trump. He once claimed that Trump and his family have done more damage to the U.S. than Usama bin Laden. ESPN’s newest star was widely criticized when his anti-Trump book featured a cover image of himself draped in the American flag, which is visibly touching the ground – a violation of U.S. flag code.”

Despite this (or, because of this?) ESPN, owned by Disney, rehired Olbermann, now for his sixth stint with the network. This is inexcusable and unjustifiable.

The Hypocrisy

Yet this very same Disney just fired Roseanne Barr for her own inexcusable, bigoted tweet in which she said of former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, “the Muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby.”

Despite the wildly popular nature of her new show and despite her apology, the show was quickly cancelled. (In her apology she wrote, “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”)

In the words of ABC, her comments were “abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values.” And how would ABC-Disney describe Olbermann’s remarks?

Remember: These are remarks for which he has made no apology. To the contrary, he even turned his hellaciously horrible tweet into his book, titled, Trump Is F—ing Crazy (This Is No Joke).

Is it wrong for me to wonder if ABC would have fired Roseanne if her tweet was directed at Trump? Or Sarah Sanders? (Obviously, I don’t mean the same words. I mean the same ugly spirit.)

Adding to the hypocrisy, in 2016, ESPN fired baseball legend (and conservative) Curt Schilling for posting a controversial meme which objected to a very male-looking transgender “woman” using the ladies’ bathroom. (SI.com noted that, “Schilling had previously been suspended by ESPN for sharing a post that compared Muslim extremists to Nazis,” a position that many rationally-minded people would affirm.)

The lesson in all this is clear. As we have known for years, the left’s “tolerance” is a one-way street. “We come against you, even in the harshest imaginable terms, and we’re social justice warriors fighting for equality, standing against evil. You come against us, even in more mild terms, and you’re bigots and racists, just plain evil.”

In the case at hand, I have no problem with Roseanne being fired, unless she demonstrated such a deep and clear repentance that it brought a redemptive ending to the story. Anything less than that and she obviously had to go.

My issue is with the double standards. They need to be confronted and exposed until they change. (And yes, while we’re confronting and exposing the double standards of the left, let’s be sure to check the consistency of our own standards. Of course!)

I believe the story of Rosannes firing is an apt illustration of the left today. Rosanne has always been left-wing politically. The problem today is that the left has become Stalinist so it’s vomiting out of its midst left wingers like Rosanne.

It’s not that Rosanne made a racist comment, she didn’t. The Muslim brotherhood is a political entity, not a race, and the Planet of the Apes a movie with political overtones. But neither did Olbermann make a racist comment either. Both could be considered politically bigoted but neither are racially bigoted.

The left overall has become Stalinist – as we can see in Olbermann’s very Stalinist comment. This of course is accepted and appropriate to the now Stalinist left. He kept his job. Rosanne, with a politically left stance, is no longer supportive of and promoting for the new Stalinist left – so she is fired.

This is why we no longer watch ABC or any of their affiliates. We don’t watch their news as their bias is obvious, we don’t watch their programming as their programming is full of bias. We no longer have an ABC or ESPN and this is why. They are Stalinist. We cannot expect anything else from them…

I’m just not shocked by this. We could have easily predicted it..the writing has been on the wall.

“Planet of the Apes” as political allegory. Of course. How could I have missed that? Nothing racist about Roseanne using the term. Uh-huh. Way to spin it.

      • Christine Wright

Was it “racist” of people to call Pres. Trump an orangutan? Or was it a regular insult without racism involved. Rosanne has always been a left winger fighting for minorities. At some point people have to stop and realize they aren’t surrounded by racist individuals, but rather, just by normal people no different than them.

        • Concerned Christian

calling trump an orangutan is calling him stupid.

Even these lefties understand the difference:

          Bill O’Reilly
          ==============
Roseanne Barr’s vicious personal attack on former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett came out of nowhere and cost Ms. Barr and the entire staff of her program their jobs. @ABC/@Disney could not continue with the show without insulting millions of Americans.

          Tomi Lahren
          ==============
What Roseanne said was wrong. I’m sure she knows that. She made a mistake. I don’t know why fellow conservatives are playing mental gymnastics trying to justify it. Come on. Wrong is wrong.

          Sean Hannity
          =============
Hannity called the comments “outrageous” on his radio show:

“I think with social media a lot of people just send things out. Especially comedians are always in danger ’cause they just think they’re being funny and they’re not.”

          • Christine Wright

Im sorry I am unclear what position your arguing… are you saying that what Rosanne said is racist?

I’m not saying it’s right to call people names, I simply don’t see how it’s racism?

          • Concerned Christian

the reason it’s perceived to be racist is because of the history of whites comparing blacks to animals.

Here are the high profile examples:

–Michelle Obama called ‘ape in heels’ on Facebook
–Denver institutions cut ties with doctor who called Michelle Obama a ‘monkey face’ on Facebook
–Venus Williams was called a guerrilla by an ESPN commentator
–Serena Williams has been called an ape

There are plenty more but these are the high profile examples. Simply google blacks and animals for more information. Also, this may help:

            https://www(dot)tolerance(dot)org/magazine/the-disturbing-monkey-business-of-us-blackwhite-race-relations

          • Stu Nahan

Michelle Obama is a transsexual. Its well documented, Joan Rivers was the first to really break the news. Makes you wonder if that was the first male couple in the White House.

          • Concerned Christian

it would be pretty awesome if that were true.

then there would be absolutely no limits to the idiotic ideas that some can come up with.

  • tz1

The problem is worse. You may not remember the National Review purges of people like Joseph Sobran. This is no different than the deplatforming and demonitization of people like Dennis Prager by Google, Facebook, and Twitter. I can give dozens of deplatforming examples.

Tolerance should be both a civic and Christian virtue. And if something goes “over the top”, apologies should be accepted. Instead even the most innocent or unintentional slight turns into scorched earth.

If we can’t resolve things with words, hopefully reason and logic, but even allowing for rhetoric, there will be violence. And there will be blood.

But there is no “double standard” because you mistake the standard. The left’s standard is whether you are part of their “tribe” or not. Identity politics. Basically a magnificent bigotry. Even racist in many cases. Often sexist (MeToo, but not for Bill Clinton…).

You are playing chess, they are playing tackle football. You are using reason and logic, they are using mob lynchings. See SJWs always lie by Vox Day (and the followup, SJWs always double down). Trump called MS-13 “animals”. If you and your family were confronted by a number of MS-13 members, would you attempt to have a conversation about how Jesus wants to save them?

    • Stu Nahan

Sobran was one of the best. No room at National Review for anyone not supporting Neocon ideology. Great article by Sobran on this line called

“For Fear of the Jews”, its on his website.

Accusations of “racism” today seem akin to accusations of being a Communist during the “red scare” days of the 1950’s, which are much ballyhooed by the left as a high point of oppressive and “fascist” paranoia. In both cases that facts matter little — just the allegation that someone is racist (or in the 1950’s a “red”) is enough to destroy someone’s career and reputation. Barr’s “joke” was stupid, not at all funny and crass, but racist? Perhaps in the eyes of idealogues who project racism onto every situation in which the argument for such might be made… but such accusations are not based in the facts regarding Barr’s own personal animus (or lack of such) toward black people

    • Andrew Mason

Seems like the Left’s biggest problem with McCarthyism is its choice of targets.

    • Andy6M

Didn’t Roseanne basically call her an ape? That’s an old school racial slur. I’m somewhat surprised that people here don’t see that as racist.

  • Bojaws Dubois

This is really sick. I’ve always considered Dr. Brown as being someone who attempts to make reasonable observations, but I mean, come on. Olbermann’s comments about President Trump are a response to the many horrific comments and actions taken by Trump while Barr’s comments are blatantly racist. That Biff can’t tell the difference is disturbing.

    • DaJuan Hayes

Agreed. Political disagreements are not akin to racism.
In West Virginia one county official described Michelle Obama as an “ape in heels.” I mean, I understand some people not liking Barack Obama, but why direct such nasty, racist vitriol at his WIFE?

    • Stu Nahan

What’s more troubling is how they try to paint Roseanne as a white, Trump voter, when, in reality, she’s Jewish.

Israeli/Jewish hatred of blacks is well-documented. In the recent past, Israel
sterilized 1000’s of Ethiopian (black) Jewish women without their
knowledge/approval. Most recently, they start deporting 1000’s of African migrants against their will.

If someone called a white man an Ape, it that racist too? If no, why?

      • Concerned Christian

can you point to an example where that has happened?

        • Stu Nahan

Are you denying that its possible to be racist toward whites?

          • Concerned Christian

Within the context of this discussion, what white public figures have been compared to animals?

            I’ll even give you one:

Trump was compared to an orangutan

            what examples can you give?

      • Boris

Humans are a species of ape.

  • Ol Buck

Imagine thinking that taking shots at the president for his out of control ego is the same thing as calling a black woman an ape.

What level of “whataboutism” are you on? Infinity?

  • Ol Buck

What if, and hear me out, Roseanne, Olbermann *and* Trump are all bad people and should be treated as such? And, also, that we ought not to care about who gets jobs at television networks and instead focus on building up the Kingdom of God?

    Just a couple of suggestions.

that insulates her from being fired for calling Hillary a Jew Hater?

even if that’s the case, if a black person compares someone black to an ape, they will be fired as well.

        • Barefoot Soul

It’s almost impossible to fire a black in America today. Once you hire them, they are there for life.

          • Stu Nahan

Granted, I think much of the so-called racism is manufactured/created, but, if racism is such a persistent, ongoing problem I don’t get why we just don’t separate.

If the goal is to do what’s best for all parties and the multicultural experiment is not working out, why keep trying to make something work that is not working.

          • Concerned Christian

it used to be that whites didn’t have to hire blacks at all. Now you can’t fire them if you hire them.

Ah, the good old days when white men only had to compete against other white men for good paying jobs.

This was the period when america was great. Thank god trump wants to take us back to that!

          • Barefoot Soul

If you think that not being able to fire someone who is incompetent is a good thing, you’re very dense.

We aren’t living in the past, we are living in the present, and what I said is true: it’s almost impossible to fire a black employee, so if he’s incompetent, the employer is stuck. It is not justice to punish present-day employers for any injustices in the past.

If you’re into white guilt, go do that on your own time. As a Christian, I am called to repent of MY sins, not my ancestors’. You sound more like a progressive than a Christian.

          • Concerned Christian

So your basic premise is that it is more difficult to fire an incompetent black person than it is to fire an incompetent white person. What are you basing this on?

          • Stu Nahan

The fact that black on white violence is completely ignored in the media. The fact that the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which explicitly prohibited quotas, was perverted and twisted into a quota regime instead, the acknowledged intent of which advanced less qualified blacks and women over white men.

A Jewish man, Alfred Blumrosen, the compliance chief of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission responsible for implementing the 1964 Civil Rights Act, praised reporters for designating him as the person who made second
class citizens out of white males.

          • Concerned Christian

“The fact that black on white violence is completely ignored in the media.”

because it doesn’t exist. Most violence occurs by people you know. However, let’s take a look at the number of whites who have attacked blacks for nothing more than being black.

“he acknowledged intent of which advanced less qualified blacks and women over white men.”

These aren’t quotas, it’s a reality that some white men don’t want to face.
Prior to 1964, white males had absolutely no competition for the best jobs, houses, communities, and schools.

Now white men must compete against black men and women, white women, Asians, Hispanics, Africans and the Middle East. Apparently, some don’t like the feeling.

          • Boris

        • Stu Nahan

          Apologies for the unfair/unnecessary label.

Yes, it insulates her from all kinds of stuff. Jews have a tendency to call everyone who disagrees with them a Nazi, white supremacist, Holocaust denier, anti-Semite, etc. Trump voters get labeled as white supremacists, anti-Semites, etc. simply for not wanting a third world country made out of their nation through immigration or daring to insist that America should come before Israel. The fact that both him and Roseanne are Jewish never has attention called to it. Its a complete double standard.

The very reason Roseanne got away with it is b/c she’s Jewish. The Jewish owner of the LA clippers made some racist remarks about blacks & barely got a slap on wrist and it was dropped down the memory hole shortly thereafter.

Its remarkable that Disney’s CEO, Bog Iger, condemns Roseanne for racism while his company pushes perversion to helpless kids.

          • Concerned Christian

isn’t trump supposedly the best friend Israel has had?

“Jewish owner of the LA clippers”

since he was the owner, he had to be forced to sale which he eventually did.

“Its remarkable that Disney’s CEO, Bog Iger, condemns Roseanne for racism while his company pushes perversion to helpless kids.”

isn’t that what trump is doing? he lies, cheats on his wife, has relationships with porn stars and playboy models, Sexually assaults women.

Perversion being pushed to kids starts from the top!

          • Stu Nahan

Trump is the consummate Shabbos goy. So, yes, he is the best friend Israel has ever had. However, that doesn’t stop him from being hated/despised by Jews, who largely turned out for Hillary & punished Trump night & day in the media for wanting normalized relations (peace) with Russia.

He ran on non-interventionist foreign policy & normalized relations with Russia. This upset the Israel lobby, AIPAC, and the Neocons (most of whom are Jewish) because they want wars for Israel in the Middle East so that Israel can be the hegemon in the region per the Oded Yinon plan & they want Russia punished for daring to intervene in Syria’s behalf both when chemical weapons were removed from the country in 2014 & for helping Syria clear US-sponsored terrorists (ISIS, SDF, FSA, etc) out of Syria.

“since he was the owner, he had to be forced to sale which he eventually did.”

No, it was owned in a trust of which his wife was a part. He wasn’t forced to sell anything, he got the number he was looking for and backed off the $1 billion suit he had brought against the NBA.

Last I checked Trump wasn’t running the mainstream media. Did Trump make the decision to put those women on TV & jam it down people’s throats 24/7? He very well may be guilty of those things & is certainly no example for kids to emulate, but, your example is just as pathetic since you’re modeling the notion of judging people before guilt is established. The MSM has trained you to hate well. Congratulations. You’re also assuming parents point their kids to Trump as an example to follow and expose them to these MSM stories.

          • Concerned Christian

“The MSM has trained you to hate well.”

well that pales in comparison to conservative media. Conservatives hate:

            Liberals
            Democrats
            Feminist

            Universities
Churches who don’t preach the good news that a lot of people are going to Hell.
            etc. etc.

it’s far easier to say who conservatives don’t hate. Basically, anyone who thinks inside the box permitted by conservatives.

I applaud Roseanne, who is still more on the left then the right, for grasping that Valerie Jarrett has a dystopian political pathology. She IS like the child of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Planet of the Apes, if they were humans who could breed. Both represent dystopian worlds. But you can’t say such things today. Our world has fallen to leftism. They have convinced too many groups how “vicitimized” they are and they have become humorless, and unable to grasp a simple political analogy, as a result. Just another example of calling something racist that is nothing of the sort.

And I definitely agree, Dr. Brown, Olbermann’s demagoguery, is what specifically makes ESPN and Disney hypocrites in this instance. A conservative who says the things that Olbermann does about the left, would never be hired.

    • Concerned Christian

what she said was clearly racist. Even Bill O’Reilly and Sean Humanity understand that.

Furthermore, conservatives say much worse things all the time. As a matter of fact, if you look for a racist, you will find them in the republican party. Certainly the majority of republicans are not racist. however, if you are a racist, you will not be voting for democrats.

      • Andy6M

Oh please! Don’t be so naive to think that racism has political boundaries.

        • Concerned Christian

i would say the same to you. I will use Stream as an example. Majority conservative. of the articles written on Stream about blacks,99% have been negative. I only say 99% since I may have missed a positive one.

Republicans have more candidates with white supremacist backgrounds running for office than blacks.

Add in a president who only says positive things about blacks when he wants to be portrayed as savior and the record is pretty clear.

conservatives can claim that the dems are racist. but like a lot of conservative views, that is more myth than fact.

          • Christine Wright

It seems you are going far afield from the topic of Rosanne, a left winger, insulting a woman of mixed race which has caused Rosanne to be called racist (Which is the last thing I think Rosanne Barr is).

I won’t say that racism doesnt exist, because it does. But every race has their own “racists”. Honestly the most racist people I’ve ever known are Saudi Arabian. Everything in the middle east is race based and who is related to the prophet, it gets downright nasty over there to the point of having second class citizens, and people who can’t even be considered citizens depending on what state you are in.

The United States has a history, but that history is no longer apparent… and Blacks and other minorities have equal opportunity to whites in this nation.

Not every comment/insult of a person made is about race, even when it sounds so. Michelle Obama was an obvious black woman. But saying she looked like an ape when she walked had nothing to do with her race, but rather had everything to do with her absolute inability to walk in heels with any amount of grace.

I’ve seen many black women in heels walk easily and gracefully – Michelle Obama was not one of them and many of the comments made about her would never have been made about a different black woman.

I won’t say what was in everyone’s heart, some people may have made comments based on racism, but I don’t think, and this is in all honesty, that rasicm is at the heart of what is going on in America today.

For the first time blacks are being treated as equals, which means just as a white man can be called an orangutan so can a black woman be said she “walks like an ape”.

It would be a wonderful world if no one would insult one another, but just as many insults fly from the left as they do from the right.

          • Concerned Christian

So Michelle Obama’s inability to walk gracefully in heels is the justification for comparing her to an animal. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a woman, who doesn’t walk gracefully in heels, being compared to an animal.

“For the first time blacks are being treated as equals, which means just as a white man can be called an orangutan so can a black woman be said she “walks like an ape”.”

I agree with being treated as equals. We now have the financial power to say we will not accept that. What just happened to Roseanne and Starbucks will serve as examples. Insults have a cost attached to them. The good news is that we can all pay the price equally for them.

          • Christine Wright

I’ve been called much worse than an animal by people.. I’m not condoning it I’m just saying that’s what people do and it’s nothing to do with race, usually everything to do with disagreements either political or religious. It’s part of life, time to grow a thicker skin if your going to survive because freedom means you will occasionally be offended.

          • Concerned Christian

Just to be clear, “NAME CALLING” is not the issue.

However, what is the issue is that we’re not just talking about name calling we’re talking about people taking action based on the perception of those names that we’re being called.

We think there’s a correlation between being compared to animals and:

–The number of unarmed blacks being shot by the police
–The incidents at Starbucks, the golf course, and the park.
            –Dylan Roof and Trayvon Martin
            –etc.

Given trump being endorsed by white supremacist, his own comments on race, and the number of white supremacist running as republicans there is cause for concern. Add in, Roseanne’s support for trump and the comments that came from her mouth, she wasn’t just insulting someone, she was confirming the correlation.

If you think this is about insults, then you make valid points. But I can assure you that this goes far beyond simple insults. It gets into the heart of actions correlated to these insults.

You’ve apparently never lived in the ghetto. I have. I lived in an area that even “blacks” thought was bad, and was where the majority of all crimes happened in the city.

It’s a lie that all these poor black men are being killed by cops. More than twice as many whites are killed by police than black people.

White people are 2-1/2 times more likely to be killed by a black person than black people are to be killed by a white man. that’s according to FBI statistics and I’ve done the math myself.

Blacks are in far greater danger of being killed by another black man than anyone else.

In the ghettos of major cities there isn’t enough of a police presence because the police that are there are constantly answering 911 calls… petty crime isn’t answered, they don’t have enough time because of all the violent crime.

I know because once the tags got stolen off my car – we even had video footage of them being stolen and could clearly see who was doing it and we couldn’t even get the cops out there to take a report. My husband had to hunt the thief down and get the tags back himself before they got sold.

Ridiculous. But it’s literally because there was too much crime and not enough cops, so they prioritized the calls and violent crime won out for their time..

Why is this? Poor school systems is one.. that school district was so bad it lost accreditation – under black democratic leadership mind you.

Another is the incentivisation of fatherless homes. When you pay people to be single parent families your destroying the family unit. There were more black two parent families under slavery than there are today.

The welfare system is destroying family, and causing young fatherless black children to be more susceptible to dropping out of school, entering into criminal activities and more. See the statistics. The democrats are doing no favors for anyone through the welfare system. It’s perpetuating poverty not lifting people out of it.

If you want to fix the problems, you first have to recognise what they are.

“You’ve apparently never lived in the ghetto. I have. I lived in an area that even “blacks” thought was bad, and was where the majority of all crimes happened in the city.”

No, like most blacks in the America, I do not live in an inner city community. Like most blacks I live in an integrated community and work for a corporation. I also go to a predominantly white church with a white pastor. So from birth and all my travels in between, my life is the typical experience for blacks and not inner city communities.

“It’s a lie that all these poor black men are being killed by cops. More than twice as many whites are killed by police than black people.”

Armed or unarmed? if more unarmed whites are being killed then unarmed blacks, shouldn’t there be some concern with the behavior of the police?

“White people are 2-1/2 times more likely to be killed by a black person than black people are to be killed by a white man. that’s according to FBI statistics and I’ve done the math myself.”

There were 17,000 plus murders committed in 2016. Of that number roughly 500 were blacks killing whites and roughly 250 were whites killing blacks. So out of 17,0000 murders, blacks killed, roughly, 200 more whites. Take into account that you are most likely going to be killed by someone you know and the fact that blacks interact with whites far more than whites interact with blacks, just look at churches, this is not surprising.

“Blacks are in far greater danger of being killed by another black man than anyone else.”

The same goes for whites, Hispanics, Asians and Muslims. You will most likely be killed by someone you know.

“Why is this? Poor school systems is one.. that school district was so bad it lost accreditation – under black democratic leadership mind you.”

Well, the least educated states in the country are:

            41. New Mexico
            42. Oklahoma
            43. Tennessee
            44. Nevada
            45. Kentucky
            46. Alabama
            47. Arkansas
            48. Louisiana
            49. West Virginia
            50. Mississippi

What do they have in common? All red states controlled by white republicans.

“There were more black two parent families under slavery than there are today.”

Let’s see you’re a slave and you’re married. Of course you were under constant threat to have your wife and kids sent to a different plantation. But yeah, those were the good old days.

By the way, there were more white two parent families under slavery than there are today as well.

“The welfare system is destroying family, and causing young fatherless black children to be more susceptible to dropping out of school, entering into criminal activities and more. See the statistics. The democrats are doing no favors for anyone through the welfare system. It’s perpetuating poverty not lifting people out of it.”

And conservatives are doing nothing but complaining about the problem without providing any solutions. Also, looking at reality would help conservatives as well. The drop out rate for blacks is dropping, the unemployment rate is dropping, and college enrollment is increasing. All of this started under the Obama administration.

“If you want to fix the problems, you first have to recognise what they are.”

Yes, if you recognized the problem, you would realize that life expectancy is dropping for white men but not for blacks. The poorest counties in America are not located in inner city communities

Also, it would help to remember that NONE OF THIS has anything to do with the fact that Rosanne made racist statements and was and should have been fired!

          • Irene Neuner

Anyone of any people group can behave like an animal, or a devil which is worse. My children, Hitler, and all sorts of other people and people groups. People who squawk about racism all the time need to stop being so skin color conscious.

It’s never really about what is on the outside. It’s the inner spirit that really displays the best or worst of humanity.

          • Andy6M

I never claimed that the conservative side of the spectrum is devoid of racism. I simply pointed out that you were naive for thinking that the liberal side isn’t. I am saying that both the conservative and liberal side of the spectrum are prone to racism because the spectrum is populated with people. It’s a human problem that has no boundaries.

      • NellieIrene

It was “clearly racist” only to those who were looking for racism. As I said before to you on another thread, if you’re looking for racism, you will find it. Even in things that aren’t racist at all. Like this tweet of Roseanne’s.

        • Concerned Christian

          what is racist then?

I’m curious, can you point out ONE incident where you would say that was racist?

          Is David Duke a racist?

          • NellieIrene

We had this discussion on another thread. I would suggest you reread it. I am not doubting that you perceive racism in this incident. You perceive racism in a good many instances which you listed in the other thread. And I am not denigrating you for having those perceptions. But perception of racism isn’t the same thing as actual racism. People’s lives have been harmed by false accusations of racism. And it makes it harder for people who are actual victims of racism to be believed when there are these knee jerk reactions to non racial comments, like Roseanne’s. Her comment was political. Not racial.

David Duke is a racist. And so is Louis Farrakhan.

          • Concerned Christian

“And it makes it harder for people who are actual victims of racism to be believed when there are these knee jerk reactions to non racial comments,

Give me an example of actual racism?

“David Duke is a racist. And so is Louis Farrakhan.”

Name the last president that Louis Farrakhan endorsed? Not only did Duke run and win as a republican, but he also endorsed the current one.

Also, as I’ve stated before, there are more white supremacist running as republicans than blacks.

“People’s lives have been harmed by false accusations of racism”

like who, that didn’t make actual racist statements?

Short of a person going on a tirade shouting “I hate blacks” or physically harming someone, it seems like conservatives never see race.

Prime example was Dylan Roof. Fox News was trying everything in their power to argue that it wasn’t a racist attack. When Trayvon was killed, conservatives portrayed the incident was Trayvon being some crazed animal or that it was an unfortunate incident. Although, we KNOW THAT he was followed by Zimmerman because he was “black”!

Again, tell me who you think has been wrongly hurt by accusations of racism?

          • NellieIrene

You have a tendency to say the same thing over and over so this will be my final post to you on this thread. We already went over this topic exhaustively on another thread.

            What is racism to me?
Susan Farina was walking her dog in New York. Some men approached her from behind and punched her on the right side of her face. This is known as Polar bearing. Also as the knock out game. The attachers are black. The intended victims are attacked because they are white. This is racism.
Jim Crow was racism. But it doesn’t exist anymore. Yet there is a nostalgia for it among some blacks. A desire to be oppressed that is so strong that they will grasp at anything. They will even fake racist incidents so they can say “aha…see…racism”. And as a result racism has become almost meaningless today. Last year black cadets in the Air Force found racial slurs written on message boards on their doors. It turned out the perp was one of the black cadets who said he was “targeted” by this pernicious “racism.” A similar incident happened in the Navy and it turned out to be the black “victim” who perpetrated the “racism”. Olaf college was roiled by racist notes that were found on campus. They turned out to be fabricated. These are not isolated incidents. There are scores of them. Do you think these false allegations don’t harm people? That it doesn’t cast suspicion on the white colleagues of these “victims”. And each incident is followed by race hustlers talking about how racist America still is. If racism is so rampant, why is there such a need to create bogus examples of it?

According to Louis Farrakhan “I never endorsed Mr. Trump or any of the candidates” He did, however, call Obama the “hope of the world”. David Duke was one of 105 representatives in Louisiana who was voted into office by a piddling number of his fellow Lousianians. He has been a member of just about every political party that has ever existed, including the democratic. Nobody wants him in their party.

“Conservatives never see race” And progressives see nothing but race.

We have discussed Dylan Roof AND Trayvon ad nauseam on the other thread. REREAD IT. But your spin on Fox is new so I will respond to it. Fox and Friends were interviewing a PASTOR and were opining about the possibility that anti christian bias MIGHT have been one of the motivating factors of the shooting. They never denied the racial element. Their discussion took place in the early hours after the shooting.

“Again”, quit looking for racism where none exists. And it would also be great if you on the “progressive” left could stop calling politicians racists and Nazi’s because you don’t agree with their policies. Name-calling is the refuge of those who are unable to come up with cogent arguments to support their own political positions.

Racism to me isn’t perception. It is actual and tangible. Polar Bearing. AKA the knock out game is an example of racism. The attackers are black. The victims are white. Open a browser and type “knock out game” and enjoy the copious examples. Jim Crow is the epitome of racism. It no longer exists in America but there is a nostalgia for it among some blacks. the permanent state of the conservative!

That’s exactly right Nellie!!! People who actually think we evolved from apes and then are perpetually looking for evidence.

Have you ever seen her? I’m sorry but “black woman” is NOT the first, or even last, thing you think when considering Valerie Jarrett’s race..

        • Concerned Christian

are you actually around black people?

I’m not trying to be funny but if you go into a black church or community you will see black women that look like her.

          • Christine Wright

I lived in the ghetto for a number of years.. and no, never saw black women that looked white. There were a few white people, a handful of minorities, but mainly black people. The white people there didn’t identity as blacks.

          • Concerned Christian

            k. i’ve lived in the south pretty much my whole life and mixed race kids identifying as black were the norm, although times are changing.
Given her age, appearance, and name, most blacks would think she’s black.

    • Irene Neuner

      I agree with you!

Concerned Christian takes himself much too seriously or not seriously at all, he is lost in liberal la la land.

  • Barefoot Soul

I wish Christian blogs would not use the secular left’s vocabulary. They use “bigot” 24/7 to refer to anyone who says something they don’t approve of. Don’t give the complete control of public debates.

    • Stu Nahan

The author of this article basically runs cover for Zionism/Cultural Marxism under the guise of being a Christian voice. That’s why.

Its important for Christians to remember that the apostle Paul said that Cretans, a race of people, were liars in Titus 1:12-13. This idea that generalizations about race cannot be made or that racial questions cannot be discussed is not biblical.

  • Irene Neuner

Ironically the editor of Answers in Genesis Magazine looks ape-ish with a large forehead, my sister describes me as a woman who looks like she walked out of the Amazon ( I am large boned, have wild hair, and a fierce spirit). Big deal!!!!

Rosannes comments weren’t racist. People need to stop being so stinking sensitive!

  • Boris

Great a bigot writing about other bigots.
