Black Conservatives Building up Steam With Blexit
Its name’s a play on Brexit, Great Britain’s movement to leave the European Union. Its members believe the Democratic Party takes them for granted and does not represent their interests. They’ve become increasingly frustrated in recent years with the Democrats’ letting illegal immigrants into the country, taking jobs away from them. The movement is selling clothing to publicize its efforts.
They call their movement “Blexit.” And they come from the Democratic party’s most loyal voting group. If the group keeps growing, the Democrats are in trouble.
Blexit’s Moving On Out
Blexit is a movement recently formed by black Americans leaving the Democratic Party. It follows the #WalkAway movement, which started earlier this year with Democrats, particularly minorities, deserting the party.
The young black conservative activist Candace Owens of Turning Point USA is leading the movement. She says the Democrats think “black people are meant to think and act within the confines of what white liberals deem acceptable.” She observes, “Across America, black people are beginning to question political orthodoxy.”
Owens calls black voters’ devotion to the Democratic Party the “Democratic plantation.” “For decades, the black community has been in an emotionally abusive relationship with the Democrat Party.” She says the false belief that a larger government might solve problems has led to the breakdown of black families.
This isn’t the way it used to be. When the 13th Amendment ended slavery, blacks voted with the GOP, which they identified as the party of emancipation. They stuck with the GOP as Democrats in the South stood for segregation.
The group’s website contains what it calls “the hard truths about the bigoted racism.” It features stories of famous Democrats engaging in racism. Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger said, for example: “Colored people are like human weeds and need to be exterminated.”
Owens says the movement intends to hold rallies in “every major city in America the Democrats have destroyed.” They will focus on the 2020 elections. Owens recently held the largest young black conservative summit in Washington, D.C., Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit.
The group seems to be riding a wave of black support for the president. Few expected this. A few days after Owens announced Blexit, Trump’s approval rating with black voters hit an all time high. A Rasmussen Reports poll found that 40 percent of black voters approve of Trump’s performance, while 58 percent disapprove. Trump’s approval ratings among blacks was only 15 percent in August of last year.
How is this happening? Trump is reaching out to black voters by citing rising economic prospects, record low unemployment among African-Americans, and the need for federal prison reform. He greeted the young black activists at the White House a couple of weeks ago. “The Democrats are very nervous,” he said. “They do nothing for you, and it’s supposed to be automatic [black support for Democrats]. But not anymore.”
WOW, Young Black kid in Georgia RED Pills reporter, on why he’s voting Republican and why he supports President Trump!

There is some controversy over the group’s use of the name “Blexit.” The name was first used by a black liberation group in 2016. It claims ownership of it. However, the original movement doesn’t appear to have gotten much steam.
The hip-hop star Kanye West once supported the movement but has now distanced himself. Owens said he even designed the Blexit logo. West denies it. West catapulted Owens to fame when he praised her in an April 2018 tweet, “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.” He has publicly supported Trump and met with him in the Oval Office. He was viciously attacked by the left, hurting his career and business. He says he wants to get back to his music.
I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.

Owens apologized to West after his tweet. However, she said sales are increasing of the apparel. No one has requested a refund. She said they are still friends.
Strangely, a Google search for “Blexit” doesn’t pull up the website in the first page of results. The site doesn’t show up until the fourth page. Negative articles about the movement dominate the top of search results. Other search engines, including Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo, show the site at the top of search results.
Democrats depend on blacks as a voting block in order to win elections. If Blexit is successful, the loss of this support will be a great blow.
