Will You Help Frodo Carry the Ring Into Mordor?

David Daleiden has set up a GoFundMe account to aid his legal defense.

I suspect that most of you have read or seen The Lord of the Rings — though probably not as many times as I have. Tolkien’s consummate storytelling skill keeps the reader in suspense about Frodo’s fate. We shudder as he hides from the Black Riders outside The Shire. We gasp as he treads the Mines of Moria. Our hearts sink with his when he thinks Gandalf defeated. But most of all, we ache with him as he bears the crushing burden of the Ring on his path through the gates of hell, into Mordor.

In a well-crafted story with a sympathetic hero, we wish we could help him out. Warn him that “Smeagol” is never to be trusted. Reassure him that Gandalf the White has emerged greater than ever. Most of all we want to act like his true friend, Sam Gamgee, as Frodo staggers under the weight of unspeakable evil on the slopes of Mount Doom.

The most uplifting scene in The Return of the King is when Sam, through tears, tells Frodo, “I can’t carry it, but I can carry you!” Dehydrated, starved and exhausted, Sam still bears enough of The Shire to propel him the rest of the way. And that’s the only way the Ring reaches the Fire.

Didn’t you wish you could carry Frodo? What if I said that you could?

David Daleiden vs. Planned Parenthood

David Daleiden has done more time in Mordor than Frodo ever did. He’s spent years investigating Planned Parenthood. Attending their conventions. Schmoozing with their operatives, forcing laughs at their ghoulish jokes. He studied in depth their profiteering in organs from tiny dead babies. Then he posed as a rep from one of the unethical medical labs that are Planned Parenthood’s customers.

Daleiden compiled thousands of hours of footage. He scrupulously preserved every last frame he’d collected. He made all of that public. Then he and his team of volunteers put together short, truthful versions that highlight the evil, the lawlessness, the cannibalistic cynicism of Planned Parenthood. He released those videos too.

Didn’t you wish you could carry Frodo? What if I said that you could?

I wrote or co-wrote some 10 essays, commenting on the videos as they came out. Republicans briefly rallied to try to defund Planned Parenthood, and then predictably caved. Like Denethor, they’d been staring too long into the Palantir, and thought the Dark Lord invincible. And so they despaired.

But Daleiden didn’t. And we have no right to. Candidate Trump promised to cut Planned Parenthood’s funding, and he tried to do so as president. Congress let him down here, as on many other issues.

But the fight isn’t finished. And Planned Parenthood has lost the respectable veneer it enjoyed when Senator Prescott Bush (father of President George H.W.) served as its Treasurer. Thanks to Daleiden’s exposés, we have video proof of that group’s deep evil.

But the Lidless Eye never sleeps, nor do his minions grow weary. Like the nine kings who accepted Rings of Power from Sauron, power-hungry lawmakers obey Planned Parenthood’s bidding. Presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (whose campaign got hundreds of thousands from the group), as California Attorney General began a prosecution of Daleiden. Her successor, Xavier Becerra, has continued it. Their goal is to lock Daleiden and Merritt in prison for the “crime” of journalism.

Social Media Monopolies and Biased Judges

Daleiden’s legal defense has been dogged. But it isn’t cheap. That’s why he set up a GoFundMe page.

I got to speak with David when I guest-hosted The Eric Metaxas Show. Today David sent me this message for readers of The Stream:

Judge Orrick founded and funded a Planned Parenthood clinic. Yet today he is still hearing their lawsuit against me and The Center for Medical Progress, in retaliation for the undercover videos that exposed Planned Parenthood’s sale of baby body parts. Even worse, this biased federal judge is now trying to put his thumbs on the scales of the bogus prosecution launched against me by Kamala Harris. He’s threatening me, CMP and my lawyers with a $195,000 fine just for trying to use the same videos in my defense that Kamala Harris’s goons are using in my prosecution.

See the recent news about Silicon Valley monopolies manipulating content on their so-called “platforms” and targeting pro-life messages for censorship — including my videos. It is clear that the radical pro-abortion San Francisco Establishment is engaged in a coordinated smear and censor campaign to attack the First Amendment civil rights of anyone who disagrees with them. This GoFundMe campaign is an opportunity to stand up and fight back.

Will he stand alone? Without prayers from The Shire, material help from Gondor?

Or will we act like Sam, and help him carry that Ring?
