White House and POTUS Respond to Anonymous Senior Official Who Dumped on Trump

By Al Perrotta Published on September 5, 2018

A senior Trump administration official anonymously published a New York Times op-ed Wednesday afternoon trashing the President. Now the White House and President Trump have responded on the record.

Still Wanna Call the Notion of a ‘Deep State’ a Conspiracy?

The article is titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.” (Perhaps he should have titled it, “Trump Was Right. There is a Deep State Out to Do Him In.”)

The anonymous White House official admits he and a group of others in the West Wing work to “stop” the president. This cabal is “working diligently from within to frustrate parts of [President Trump’s] agenda and his worst inclinations.”

It may be cold comfort in this chaotic era, but Americans should know that there are adults in the room. We fully recognize what is happening. And we are trying to do what’s right even when Donald Trump won’t.

The official refuses to give the President credit for his administration’s successes. “These successes have come despite — not because of — the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective.”

He even claims some cabinet officials discussed evoking the 25th amendment early in the Trump presidency, to remove him from office as unfit.

The rest of the op-ed reads like an inside-the-Beltway manifesto, filled with establishment talking points. Trump coddles dictators and is mean to our friends. He is no true conservative. It praises paraphrases and John McCain. And on a day when Democratic senators have plotted demonstrations in the confirmation hearings for Brett Kavanaugh, he calls for “rising above politics” and “reaching across the aisle.”

President Trump Responds to ‘Gutless’ Editorial

President Trump has responded to what he calls a “gutless editorial.” Questioned during a White House event, Trump said, “Nobody has ever done in less than a two-year period what we have done. So when you tell me some anonymous source within the administration, probably who’s failing, and probably here for the all the wrong reasons … ”

He went on to rip the Times, which admits it flouted its own policies by running the anonymous op-ed. “So if the failing The New York Times has an anonymous editorial — can you believe it?” he said. “Anonymous. Meaning gutless. A gutless editorial.”

Sarah Sanders Calls for ‘Coward’ to Resign

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders called for the “coward” to resign. Now.

“Nearly 62 million people voted for President Donald J. Trump in 2016,” she said in a statement. “None of them voted for a gutless, anonymous source to the failing New York Times.”

Sanders went onto say, “We are disappointed, but not surprised, that the paper chose to publish this pathetic, reckless, and selfish op-ed.”

This is a new low for the so-called “paper of record,” and it should issue an apology, just as it did after the election for its disastrous coverage of the Trump campaign. This is just another example of the liberal media’s concerted effort to discredit the President.

The individual behind this piece has chosen to deceive, rather than support, the duly elected President of the United States. He is not putting country first, but putting himself and his ego ahead of the will of the American people. This coward should do the right thing and resign.
