Well, Folks, How About That State of the Union?

Joe Biden, delivering his State of the Union on February 7, 2023 as Vice President Kamala Harris and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy look on.

Before last night’s State of the Union speech former White House press secretary Jen Psaki called Joe Biden an “amazing storyteller.” “What he needs to do is to tell a story.” And so he did. Last night, in front of Congress and America, Joe Biden told a story about an America stronger and more prosperous and more respected and more feared than it was when he took office. And boy, was it a tall tale!

How many lies during the 70-minute address? George Santos genuflected and shouted, “I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!”

The nation he described wasn’t the one the nation is living in, as polling shows.

Whoopers With Cheese

Joe raced through his speech as if trying to make the 10 p.m. rerun of Golden Girls, botching words and phrases as if he’d spent two hours before the speech tailgating. That is, when he wasn’t shouting. The term that best describes his delivery? “Speed slurring.”

Out came a smorgasbord of whoppers and weirdness. The howler earning the biggest GOP reaction came when he tried to dishonestly smear the Republicans, suggesting they wanted to slash Social Security and Medicare. “Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset.” To which Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene yelled “You lie!”

Biden declared his desire for unity. But again played the J6 card, dismissing the concerns of half the country … . “Two years ago, our democracy faced its greatest threat since the Civil War.” And again he played the race card … squatting on the grief of Tyre Nichol’s parents, whose son was killed by five black officers.

He blasted the 2022 profits of Big Pharma while conveniently ignoring how much of that profit was driven by his own COVID-vaccine mandates. In fact, he boasted about the vaccines!

He claimed that mass murders jumped 300% after the end of the assault weapons ban.

Of course any statement about how glorious the economy is doing is belied by the lived experience of every American who is not a member of the Biden family.

“The tax system is not fair,” he shouted, “It is not fair!” Says the guy who doesn’t report the income funneled him by Hunter. Whose family is under investigation by the IRS. He again vowed, “Nobody earning under $400,000 will pay an extra penny” … as news broke Tuesday that his IRS is going to go after the tips of waiters and waitresses.

It wasn’t just the big things, but the little things too. For example, Biden claimed his wife was a “full-time teacher.” Then again, when you work only an hour a day yourself, you would think she is full time.

The Just Plain Weird

Then there were the head-scratchers. And I’m not just talking about Dr. Jill’s full on smooch of Kamala’s husband.

The 19 uses of the word “folks.” As if the man with the several mansions who has never had a job outside the government yet has banked millions is one of the “folks.”

“I enjoy conversion.” Fine for a preacher, but when you’re a president, what on earth are you talking about?

“We’re going to need oil for at least another decade.” You think?

“This is a blue-collar blueprint to rebuild America and make a real difference in your lives.” Yeah, we’ve seen the difference in our 401Ks, at the pump, at the grocery store … . Sorry, man. You’ve turned the blue collar into a noose.

“My economic plan is about investing in places and people that have been forgotten,” Namely, Ukraine.

Here, a record number of Americans say they are financially worse off under Joe Biden. As even CNN noted, “That’s the highest number they’ve been polling for 37 years.”

By the way, talking about the “forgotten” people? Plagiarizing again, this time from Trump.

And here’s one for the highlight reel.

How about this one: “Fighting for the sake of fighting, power for the sake of power, conflict for the sake of conflict, gets us nowhere.” Declaring half the country domestic terrorists? Unleashing your FBI and DOJ on your political opponents, including raiding your likely rival’s home? What does that get us, other than censorship and solitary confinement and the quashing of liberty.?

Most astonishingly, Biden declared that the world now knows we’re tough on China. True, he did not specify which world. Certainly not ours. China flew a white balloon over our sensitive sites. Biden flew a white flag over the White House. But I tell ya, folks, they got the message

Then to complete the delusion he shouted … I mean, shouted, “Name me a world leader who would change places with Xi Jinping! Name me one!”

Really? Leading the second biggest economy in the world as it grows in geographical, economic, political and military power around the globe? A nation so confident of our weakness it could park a middle-finger shaped balloon over ICBM silos? No world leader would want that gig?!

What He Ignored

Biden spent all of seven lines on China. Our most powerful adversary. Who just put a “kick me” sign on our bottom in front of the whole world. No details on the spy balloon, and why it was allowed to wander the country for 8 days. Not even a tip of the hat to the pilots who knocked it down and the Navy that’s picking up the pieces. But airline baggage fees? Oh, yeah, he covered that like butter on toast.

He barely touched on the crime that is filling our streets with blood.

He barely mentioned Ukraine where he’s sending so much of our treasure.

He ignored the millions of illegal immigrants he’s allowing to pour over our border.

Oh, he did mention the 70,000 fentanyl deaths … only to be greeted with shouts of “border” and “It’s your fault.” He certainly didn’t tie the fentanyl to his benefactors in China.

He didn’t mention his classified document scandal. Or apologize for lying about Hunter’s laptop and his business ties to his son.

Again With the Division

Biden waited until near the end of his speech to again display his pathological manipulation of fact, and meanness. While saluting Paul Pelosi, Joe Biden again tied the crazed attack on Pelosi to January 6 and Donald Trump.

“The last few years, our democracy’s been threatened and attacked … an unhinged ‘Big Lie’ assailant unleashed political violence at the home of the then Speaker of the House … using the very same language the insurrectionists used … on January 6th.”

Yes, a drugged out hippie nudist from Berkeley whose crib is adorned with BLM and rainbow flags was a MAGA guy. The one MAGA guy in all of Berkeley happens to be the one going at Paul Pelosi with a hammer. Despicable.

Further, Biden talked about “political violence” just a few feet away from Brett Kavanaugh, who very nearly was assassinated last year. A few feet away from Steve Scalise, who was nearly shot to death by a Progressive out to wipe out as many Republicans as possible. A few yards from Rand Paul, who has been the victim of multiple political attacks, losing a chunk of his lung.

Biden says this as scores of pro-life pregnancy centers and churches have been torched and vandalized. And of course, as ANTIFA continues its reign of terror.

None of that counts as political violence. Only an early morning break-in by a certifiable lunatic.

The Strong Union

Said Joe Biden in closing, “Because the soul of this nation is strong, because the backbone of this nation is strong, because the PEOPLE of this nation are strong: The State of The Union is Strong!”

He left off “…despite my best efforts.”
