Wall Street Journal Shows With Graphics What Can Happen if Trump Wins or Loses

By The Stream Published on March 15, 2016

With a changing graphic that plots the likely delegate counts from today through the end of the primaries, the Wall Street Journal has shown both how Donald Trump could barely get enough delegates to win the nomination (he has to win all five primaries today) and how he could wind up in a two-way race with Ted Cruz that neither would win. If Trump wins Florida and other states tonight, theΒ Journal predicts that he will still fall slightly short of the number he needs to win.

If Rubio loses his home state of Florida, as he has, and John Kasich wins Ohio, the chart predicts that this will produce more delegates for Trump than Cruz by the end of the primaries. But Trump will still fall a little short, unless he nearly sweeps the remaining primaries.
