Uranium One Deal Growing More Radioactive

By Al Perrotta Published on October 27, 2017

Last week’s bombshell about the Uranium One deal continues to reverberate.

To recap: an FBI investigation had “gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States.”

The FBI kept the investigation under wraps. The FBI knew about the Putin bribery effort and didn’t bother to tell Congress. And maybe even the people on CFIUS not named Eric Holder or Hillary Clinton.

As part of that effort to gain control of the mining company Uranium One, Russian nuclear officials gave some $145 million to the Clinton Foundation. Secretary of State Clinton was then serving on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, a group deciding the fate of the deal.

That sale put 20% of our nation’s uranium in the hands of Vladimir Putin.

Since the story broke that the FBI kept the news to itself, we’ve seen a string of new developments.

The Lobbyist

The lobbyist-turned-FBI informer will get to tell his story to Congress. Obama’s DOJ had threatened him with prison if he spoke up, citing a non-disclosure agreement. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Wednesday night he was lifting the gag order. The informant will be able to speak to the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee, House Oversight Committee and the House Intelligence Committee.

Both House committees had already announced they would be looking into the Uranium One deal and the Russian bribery scheme.

The Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat Adam Schiff is indignant about the Russia bribery revelations. Well, that’s not quite true. He said it is a “partisan effort to distract.” From what? The investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016. Get that? Sharing news about an investigation into Russia  influencing American politics is a distraction from an investigation into Russia’s effort to influence American politics.

In the meantime, we should be praying for the safety of this informer. He’s outed both Vladimir Putin and Hillary Clinton. That’s worse than ratting on the Gambinos or Luccheses.

The Clintons

C-SPAN asked Hillary about the new revelations on Monday. Like Gene Simmons still spitting fire at a KISS concert, Hillary spit out the same lines she’s used for decades.

I would say it’s the same baloney they’ve been peddling for years, and there’s been no credible evidence by anyone. In fact, it’s been debunked repeatedly and will continue to be debunked.

Then she did the “Fox News, Fox News” bit.  As we know, the story was broken by The Hill. The left-leaning The Hill.

The Story’s Not Baloney

For the story to be baloney it must be true that:

  1. Despite proof the Russians were spending tens of millions to influence her, it did not work. She just happened to sign off on giving Putin exactly what he wanted.
  2. The $145 million dollars that came into the Clinton Foundation from Uranium One board members had nothing to do with her or the Uranium One deal being debated. It was simply a sudden act of altruism. These generous Russian souls decided — coincidentally and separately — to donate to her.
  3. It was just oversight that the Foundation failed to report these contributions.
  4. The Clintons had zero interest in Uranium One. This despite Bill helping his buddy Frank Giustra land a uranium mining deal in Kazakhstan, which led to his little company’s value skyrocketing and eventually being bought up by Uranium One.  (After that sale, Giustra dropped $31 million into the Clinton Foundation.)
  5. It is coincidence she was being lobbied on the Uranium One deal by the firm founded by her campaign manager. (See more below)
  6. It is mere coincidence that hubby Bill Clinton got a $500,000 speaking fee from Renaissance Capital. They just happen to be the Kremlin-connected bank that was plugging the Uranium One deal.
  7. It’s only coincidence President Clinton got twice his normal fee.  (Well, normal after Hillary became Secretary of State. Bill’s rate had dropped in the previous years, according to Clinton Cash.)

$500,000 for one speech. I don’t know if I’d pay $500,000 to see Lincoln deliver the Gettysburg Address.

The Podesta Group

Unfortunately for Hillary, the “baloney” could turn to crow. Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller is digging into The Podesta Group as part of his investigation into Russian influence on American politics.

The Podesta Group is the powerful D.C. lobbying firm founded by Hillary’s campaign manager John Podesta and brother Tony. Tony was also a bundler for Hillary’s campaign. They’re cogs in the Clinton Machine like Clayton Kershaw is a cog in the Dodgers pitching staff.

A source who worked for The Podesta Group and says he testified before Mueller’s team told Tucker Carlson a fascinating tale Tuesday. You remember Paul Manafort, who was briefly Trump’s campaign manager? He is certainly a central figure in the Russia Collusion investigation. The source says Mueller didn’t raid Manafort’s house because of his connection to Trump. He’s looking into Manafort’s work with The Podesta Group … a.k.a. Hillary’s people. Even Brad Thor wouldn’t have seen that one coming.

It’s a Mess

Manafort was acting as a liaison between Russia and the Podesta Group, helping the Podesta Group lobbying Washington officials like Hillary on behalf of the Russians. Hillary was definitely a target. According to Carlson, “Manford was clear that Russia wanted to cultivate ties to Hillary.” (For one thing, they thought she would be the next president.)

In fact, at the recommendation of John Podesta, The Podesta Group also hired a close Clinton deputy named David Adams. His job?  To lobby his old boss at State.

Uranium One was in the mix. The source told Carlson that sometime in 2013 or early 2014 a meeting included Tony Podesta and someone from the Clinton Foundation. “The explicit subject of the meeting? How to assist Uranium One.”

Here’s Carlson’s report:

The Danger

Between the Uranium One deal and the new revelations about her campaign’s role in the anti-Trump Russian dossier one thing is clear: Hillary Clinton is so far into this Russia business, if you cut her she’d bleed vodka.

However, we can’t lose sight of the seriousness of the situation. Even if Hillary and her machine were as pure as the driven snow, the fact remains 20 percent of this nation’s uranium supply is now controlled by Vladimir Putin.

“Oh,” you will hear some Democratic talking heads say, “It’s not like the uranium is leaving the United States.”

Not true, according to The New York Times. They reported in 2015 that Uranium One was exporting “yellowcake” out of the U.S. It’s “routinely packed into drums and trucked off to a processing plant in Canada.”

A spokesman for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said, “to the best of our knowledge” most of the uranium sent to Canada was returned for use in the United States (emphasis mine).

Uranium One claimed 25 percent went to Western Europe and Japan.

Does either statement make you comfortable? Vladimir Putin is spreading our uranium around the world. The same Vladimir Putin who is friends with North Korea and Iran.

This is one Clinton scandal that could blow up on more people than Hillary.

It’s just good, sorry … to see the actual wicked feet being held to the fire for a change.

    • Wharf rats indeed… but they did slip Aunt Jemima in there for a while…

  • GPS Daddy

Anyone who objectively looks at what Hillary did while in office knows she has committed crimes. She is in violation of the espionage act. How can the American people trust the government until Hillary and company (whoever that may be) is brought to justice? Until then our country is ran by those who have the most money and can get away with it.

  • GPS Daddy

As far as the uranium… cut the ties. No more uranium leaves our boarders.

IDK, Kim Jong Un might need an express delivery if things get worse

  • Howard Rosenbaum

Theres just got to be some kind of delusion going on here. Even if these players thought they could outlive this conspiracy w/a term or two of Hilary as POTUS & a few other political shenanigans to cover this stuff up it still makes no sense . Was there not any other deviousness they could pull off for some huge pay days that wouldn’t compromise national security? These guys aren’t stupid, yet like their mentor the Prince of Darkness, theres a serious lack of wisdom going down here. Isn’t that just the way it is though. You know, the proverb. A fool is snared by the transgression of his lips. To hear these blathering “fools’ promoting ( or worse believing ) their hypocrisy, you’d think they must have washed down that yellow cake w/too much of Russia’s national beverage ….

  • Hmmm…

Like Mike Pence said after Comey’s chicken out decision on the server and emails … This is like a banana republic, where the law does not apply to everyone. And of course there’s more on this and multiple other fronts.

  • Patmos

“The source says Mueller didn’t raid Manafort’s house because of his
connection to Trump. He’s looking into Manafort’s work with The Podesta
    Group … a.k.a. Hillary’s people.”

I saw this possibility thrown out there a while back, that Mueller’s current position though portrayed as targeting Trump, is really set up to clean house of roaches like the Clintons. Long overdue really, I mean, the Clintons stealing furniture from the White House was probably a good sign to go on in spite of it’s relatively minor implications (relative to the rest of the baggage the Clintons carry around).

I mean, yeah I get it, nothing significant has stuck to them so far. At some point though where there is smoke there is fire, and calling the Clintons innocent is like calling Harvey Weinstein a respectful gentleman.

    • Chip Crawford

Breaking News – CNN is saying Mueller has an indictment coming down, didn’t say who …. guessing Manafort. Not finding confirmation yet elsewhere. That will of course eclipse this helpful news cycle on the Clinton dirt, but faint not anyone.

      • Patmos

My guess is lower level people will take the fall, with the Clintons once again getting a free pass in the name of National Security or some such thing.

        • Chip Crawford

Nope; too much out there now, and their old “pals” are tiring of them. Heard Bill wasn’t in favor of the blame book or tour, said it was not what a leader does. When she’s turned on the DNC and the party in general in the book, what support can she realistically expect. She’s developed the immunity mindset also after getting away with stuff for so long, that’s she’s blind to her actual vulnerability.

          • Patmos

I would be genuinely shocked if Hillary got caught in the snare. The only circumstances I see that happening are: 1. The offenses are too egregious to ignore, 2. She’s no longer seen as too big to fail, so to speak, and so can be sacrificed, or 3. The FBI somehow actually got itself cleansed of being politicized.

A fourth option is some combination of the above, but all options seem like long shots to me.

          • Chip Crawford

People thought the thing with Weinstein could not be stopped, after having watched it go forward for years regardless of what else happened. What about the God option, his slowness to wrath and longsuffering for mercy has come to a close in order to be just and merciful to others who look to him for both.

    • Mueller exterminating the Clinton/DNC roaches? I dunno… He’s got some ‘splainin’ to do over concealing the bribery and money laundering investigation from congress. Maybe he thinks putting on some pointed shoes to squish the cornered Clintons will divert attention from his involvement in the dirty uranium deal.

  • Jim Walker

There is quietness around here… Where are the trolls? Paid n free?

    • GPS Daddy

There are clearly paid and organized efforts that post against the stream. I think some of the user names have more than one person behind them.

    • Chip Crawford

They’re all regrouping, being pulled into some hot spots where it’s all hands on deck to do damage control! lol

    • Soros’ checks are bouncing, and Brock’s appeared to be contaminated with some sort of milky bodily fluid, so the banks won’t touch them.

  • Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein and Weissmann had to cover up Putin’s uranium bribery, extortion and money laundering racket because it was interfering with the Clinton bribery, extortion and money laundering racket.

  • Scott

This article, like most, misses the point.

Uranium One also controls the uranium in Khazakstan. That’s the real prize Russia was after.

    • GPS Daddy

I think your missing the point, Scott.

The point is that Hillary and company illegally allowed US uranium resources to come under Russia control to the enhancement of the Clinton’s. This is consistent with the Clinton’s paradigm of “Clintons First” view of themselves. It fits a very long pattern in their lives that even includes violations of the Espionage Act. A VERY serious thing.

      • Scott

I understand that completely. I’m adding another aspect that is usually missed. Looking at it from the Russian perspective.

Russia could have invaded Khazikstan and just taken the uranium. Like they did Crimea.

But that’s messy. It’s easier to bribe Hillary and let her sell out Khazakstan.

    • azabigail

That’s right, Khazakstan, and the fact that Russia is now the majority holder of Uranium sources in the World. So here we are, now entering 2019 and the Uranium One investigation IS starting to flame up.

  • Ryan

No matter how fast or far evil runs to hide from the truth, it will come back to haunt them in the end.

  • Hilarious! You do know that Hillary isn’t a politician anymore, right? If you want to focus on real problems, they exist right in your own party.

    • Chip Crawford

Ha, ha, ha, yes, please be sure to copy HRC in on your memo; she hasn’t gotten the message yet. She is, however, still a criminal, along with her many unindicted (so far) co-conspirators.

The reports of the implosion and/or demise of the Republican party are greatly exaggerated. Fact is, they are regrouping for strength — the swamp there is being drained. Not near the massive task required for your entire party, however.

      Top of the morning.
