Thousands of pro-life advocates are signing a petition urging President-elect Donald Trump to uphold four promises that inspired millions of faith-based voters to elect him as the 45th resident of the White House.

“Trump now needs to hear from his pro-life supporters that they expect him to follow through on these promises without delay, and that he will have our full support when the going gets tough and pro-abortion Democrats and others try to stand in the way,” says the LifeSiteNews petition, which demands Trump follow through on four specific promises from the campaign trail:

• appoint staunchly pro-life Supreme Court justices
• sign the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would end painful, gruesome late-term abortions.
• defund Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions
• repeal the Johnson Amendment, which muzzles the ability of churches to speak out on political issues

According to ABC News, the U.S. Supreme Court was a major concern of over one-fifth of voters on Tuesday. Exit polls found Trump won that demographic 57 percent to 40 percent.

“A sizable majority of voters named lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court as one of the most important factors in their voting decision,” said Carrie Severino, Chief Counsel and Policy Director of the Judicial Crisis Network. Severino is just one of many pro-life leaders who say Trump must follow through on promises that inspired support.

Trump has also promised to make the Hyde Amendment, a measure that prevents the federal funding of most abortions, permanent law instead of an annual budget rider.
