The Mueller Report is Here!

Members of the mainstream media listening to Attorney General William Barr before release of Mueller Report. Okay, maybe we're joking.

Not since Doctor Zhivago has a Russia-themed work garnered such a frenzy. In fact, the hysteria surrounding the release of the Mueller Report has been nothing short of Harry Potter-esque.

Indeed, it’s sorcery of a most Voldemort sort that would turn a fictional work of campaign propaganda into a two-year national ordeal. Yet here we are. The report of Special Counsel Robert Mueller has arrived. At last. Strike up the band! Set the pigeons loose!

You can read the report here

Barr Press Conference

Attorney General William Barr kicked off what’s going to be a wild day with a press conference laying out the report basics. Russians tried to interfere with the election. No Trump campaign member or associate helped in those efforts.

Said Barr, “We now know that the Russian operatives who perpetrated these schemes did not have the cooperation of President Trump and the Trump campaign.”  No Trump Russia Collusion. In fact, no Americans at all were involved.

Barr also revealed that President Trump declined to invoke executive privilege on materials contained in the report. The Special Counsel did look at 10 instances of potential obstruction of justice by Trump. However, Trump “took no act that in fact deprived the special counsel of the documents and witnesses necessary to complete his investigation.” And Trump had “non-corrupt motives.” Translation: The man griped left and right about the investigation. But that’s no surprise.

Barr  discussed how the report was redacted and described contacts between DOJ and the White House in recent days. Trump’s lawyers did get to see the redacted version of the report, but were not allowed any opportunities to add redactions, nor did they ask for any.

Barr was accompanied by Deputy Attorney General Rob Rosenstein, a central figure in both the firing of James Comey, the hiring of Mueller … and, in fact, the FISA warrants signed out against Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. He’s also the guy who wanted to wear a wire to record the President.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer released a statement calling on Mueller to testify before both the House and Senate. Attorney General Barr said he had no problem with that.

President Trump is also talking about holding a press conference himself. This is gonna be better than binge-watching Netflix.
