The Brew: The Big Apple’s Answer to Robert Mugabe
The price of a subway Metrocard, if Zohran Mamdani is elected NYC mayor.
We’re finding out more and more about Zohran Kwame Mamdani as the autopsy of his zombie worldview continues. The fact that he’s a Muslim who sides with Hamas over Israel isn’t even in the top five reasons to find this man alarming. (As a mere mayor, he’ll exert zero influence over who wins in the Middle East.) What’s really appalling is that Mamdani wants to govern New York City the way Robert Mugabe governed Zimbabwe — by shaking down the middle class, empowering street thugs, and pursuing racial revenge.
I wrote yesterday about Mamdani’s strengths as a campaigner and appeal to low-information, high-indignation voters. Now let’s dig a bit into his beliefs and concrete proposals, which seem to be driven entirely by resentment, envy, and rage. Oh yes, and racial bias.
First let’s look at his overtly pro-criminal policies. See if you think a city where crime afflicts the non-white and poor far more than the rich will become safer and more orderly if Mamdani gets everything on his Kwanzaa list:
This is what he’s going to do. Pro-criminal policies top to bottom. Protections and kid gloves for criminals of all types. NYC has fallen pic.twitter.com/sWZkJZh4RX

Votes for felons? Check. Legalized prostitution? Check. Letting violent criminals out of jail without bail? Checkmate.
Ever heard of the Ferguson Effect? It’s the documented fact that in city after city, wherever race hustlers manage to defund and hobble the police, more black and Hispanic people get killed, robbed, or hospitalized by violent criminals. Some New Yorkers are savvy to this, which may explain why black and Hispanic residents mostly didn’t vote for Mamdani in the recent Democratic primary.
But racial politics play a huge part in Mamdani’s agenda. Here’s a policy memo he released explicitly saying he wants to shift the tax burden according to one’s racial group:
EXPOSED: ZOHRAN’S EXPLICITLY ANTI-WHITE PROPERTY TAX PLAN
Zohran’s racist policy memo explicitly states that he will “Shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.”

Mamdani also plans to utterly cripple immigration enforcement in New York City:
BREAKING: This is the memo that could be Zohran Mamdani’s downfall.
He wants to triple down on making NYC a Sanctuary City and crack down on ICE.
These two policies are extremely unpopular with New Yorkers, especially the middle class. pic.twitter.com/EuvdjFUyhH

Texas Republican Congressman Brandon Gill had the chance to grill a Leftist race activist about his views in the House of Representatives, and the conversation was revealing about the motives and malice lurking in the “post-colonial” politics that Mamdani and many Democrats now openly promote.
.@RepBrandonGill just BURIED a black supremacist that didn’t want to admit his own beliefs.

Swamp King Thune Sides with Liberal Parliamentarian to Gut Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”
I’ve said before that the Republican Congress has proved less impressive and effective than a model U.N. at a special ed school. Now, to prove me correct, Senator Majority Leader John Thune has thrown in with the Senate parliamentarian who wants to cut some of the best provisions out of President Donald Trump’s budget reconciliation bill, as Politico reports:
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday the Senate would not move to overrule its parliamentarian after she advised that including key provisions in the GOP’s domestic-policy megabill would expose it to a fatal Democratic filibuster.
After the decisions were publicized Thursday, multiple conservative Republicans called on the Senate to sideline Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough. But when asked by POLITICO about overruling her, Thune said, “No, that would not be a good option for getting a bill done.”
The rulings from MacDonough affected several major pieces of the GOP plan, including a provision that would crack down on provider taxes that states used to fund their Medicaid programs as well as measures meant to exclude undocumented residents from public benefits. Republicans are expected to try to rewrite the provisions in hopes of winning MacDonough’s blessing.
“How is it that an unelected swamp bureaucrat, who was appointed by Harry Reid over a decade ago, gets to decide what can and cannot go in President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill?” wrote Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) on X.
“The WOKE Senate Parliamentarian, who was appointed by Harry Reid and advised Al Gore, just STRUCK DOWN a provision BANNING illegals from stealing Medicaid from American citizens,” added Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), also on X. “This is a perfect example of why Americans hate THE SWAMP.”
Trump is happy to help primary Rep. Thomas Massie for opposing him on relatively small issues. Will he weigh in on Thune’s latest surrender, which might well cause conservatives in the House to oppose the “Big Beautiful Bill”? Maybe we won’t have to wait for the midterm elections to hit legislative gridlock.
But we don’t have to wait for Thune’s next primary election in two years. The president has other options, as Daniel Horowitz explains:
The Congressional Research Service puts it plainly: “As a staff official, neither parliamentarian is empowered to make decisions that are binding on the House or Senate. The parliamentarians and their deputies/assistants only offer advice that the presiding Representative or…

As president of the Senate, Vice President J.D. Vance can overrule both Thune and the parliamentarian, and send the bill forward intact.
15 Judges Set Up Autopilot Injunction Machine to Block Deportations. So Trump’s Suing Them
Gateway Pundit reports on the latest power grab from lawless judges trying to cripple the executive branch of government:
Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sued the entire federal district court bench in Maryland on Tuesday evening over an order blocking deportations of criminal aliens.
The lawsuit was filed after the US District Court for the District of Maryland issued an order that required the clerk to automatically enter an injunction against removing any illegal alien that challenges their deportation and files a habeas petition. … “Defendants’ automatic injunction issues whether or not the alien needs or seeks emergency relief, whether or not the court has jurisdiction over the alien’s claims, and no matter how frivolous the alien’s claims may be,” the lawsuit said.
These jurists literally automated the process of interfering with the enforcement of American law. They deserve to be smacked down, impeached, removed, and then disbarred.
The Largest Child Rescue in U.S. History
Intercessors for America reports on a stunningly successful series of raids that saved dozens of kids from human traffickers in Florida:
Conducted from June 2 to June 13 by a coalition of over 100 personnel from roughly 20 law enforcement agencies — including the U.S. Marshals, Florida Attorney General’s Office, FDLE, local police, social charities, and healthcare professionals — Operation Dragon Eye is being called “the largest child rescue operation in U.S. history.”
By its conclusion, authorities had safely located and recovered 60 “critically missing” children aged 9–17 from Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Many were at imminent risk — from exploitation, substance abuse, or domestic violence — with several underage girls discovered to be pregnant victims of traffickers.
The operation didn’t end with the rescues. Each child received immediate medical attention, psychological debriefing, optimized care, and long-term support programs. One particularly moving moment saw a young pregnant girl weep tears of hope upon hearing her unborn baby’s heartbeat for the first time — marking a miraculous step toward a future shaped by God’s grace rather than trauma.
The intercessors offered a prayer of gratitude we might wish to join: “Father, we are overjoyed for the rescue of these children. We thank you for the tireless efforts of law enforcement, and pray for an end to human trafficking in America, and that its perpetrators will be brought to justice.”
Amen.
