The Brew: President Trump Keeps Flooding the Zone with Sane Policies That Expose Sick, Squalid Secrets

No, it’s not manna from Heaven or multiplied loaves and fishes, because Caesar isn’t Jesus. We don’t look to Donald Trump, Elon Musk, or any mere human being to save us from our sins; Jesus already did that. But we can and should demand that the men who wield the secular sword aren’t sticking it in our backs or using it to abort babies and sexually mutilate children.

Some people say that asking for that amounts to “Christian Nationalism.” And now, thanks to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)’s exposure of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), we know why some Christians use such smears:

It’s because they’re being paid to do so by the Deep State and the permanent government. The brave Meghan Basham faced plenty of scorn and spitting when she exposed last summer in her book Shepherds for Sale how many evangelical institutions have been compromised and corrupted by the influx of money from left-wing nonprofits linked to figures such as George Soros. But even she didn’t dream that those same institutions were getting checks cut from the U.S. government to fund left-wing initiatives, such as the After Party curriculum designed by Russell Moore and David French. (See Jules Gomes’s report on this and related scandals coming out later this morning.)

Meanwhile, the magazine that Russell Moore edits, Christianity Today, is refusing to take paid ads for conservative Christian books, such as the excellent Stockholm Syndrome Christianity by John West of the Discovery Institute:

You see, Christianity Today explained, such an ad might drag the magazine into politics. Heaven forfend.

A Vast Octopus of Evil, with Tentacles Spanning the Earth

What DOGE has been busy exposing isn’t just wasteful taxpayer-funded programs in foreign countries. That’s the tippy-tippy top of the iceberg, which is vast and goes down deep into dark and poisonous waters. In fact, what we’re learning from the drip-drip-drip of Musk’s crack team’s revelations is this: USAID is a global slush fund for evil, full stop.

It’s the means by which our corrupt, half-educated, and self-selected elites impose their godless, irrational views on helpless people around the world, using our tax money, under the pretext of feeding the poor and advancing American interests — disguised, as the Bible says, as an “angel of light.”

We could fill up eight stories a day at The Stream detailing just what we’re learning about the long, slimy tentacles that USAID stretched across the world — rigging elections, sterilizing poor women, convincing little brown boys in distant villages that they might really be “trans,” and so much more. We’ll report on each scandal as it emerges, of course. But here’s just a little sampler:

“Catholic” Immigration Ponzi Schemes Hardest Hit

As a lifelong Catholic, I take a special comfort in seeing the exposure and defunding of the left-wing activists who hijacked so many institutions in my own church, such as Catholic Charities (which reportedly helps cartels to traffic illegal immigrants), and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) — to which I used to donate before I learned that it paid its leader more than $640,000 a year, and according to the Lepanto Institute, is “promoting condoms and contraception as well as implementing health referral networks that included abortion and contraception promoters and providers.” Now CRS is getting slashed, as the leftist National Catholic Reporter complained:

Catholic Relief Services is bracing for massive cuts — as much as 50% this year — because of draconian reductions in U.S. foreign assistance ordered by the Trump administration, according to an internal email from the chief executive of the international relief organization.

CRS is the top recipient of funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development, known as USAID, which the Trump administration has targeted with a spending freeze, office closure and extensive staff cuts this week.

Layoffs have already begun as CRS has been forced to begin shutting down programs funded by USAID, which supplies about half of the Catholic organization’s $1.5 billion budget, said CRS president and CEO Sean Callahan in a staffwide email sent Feb. 3.

“We anticipate that we will be a much smaller overall organization by the end of this fiscal year,” Callahan wrote in the email, which was reviewed by National Catholic Reporter.

USAID Was the Beating Heart of Globalist Power Grabs

Conservative Treehouse puts the revelations from USAID in a broader context:

The fact that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was a sub-silo for the CIA is not a new revelation. In fact, this website and several others have been deep in the research of the networking for years.

From the Arab Spring to Libya, to the color revolution in Ukraine, to the attempted overthrow of Viktor Orban in Hungary, to overturning the outcome of the Romanian election (remember it was a global intelligence determination), to the efforts to support Emmanuel Macron, to influence and IC control over Moldova, and onto the efforts of USAID and Samantha Power in Tbilisi, Georgia, the footprint of USAID in connection to the CIA was always transparent.

The fact that USAID was similarly involved in domestic influence operations, is now coming forth with receipts showing how USAID paid domestic political groups for activism, paid for media influence operations and generally did the same thing inside the United States that the CIA/USAID were doing outside the USA.

It seems that USAID funds were also key in the first fraudulent impeachment attempt against President Trump:

Whichever young genius Elon Musk hired who advised him to go after USAID, we should be praying for that person — prayers of protection and thanksgiving.

Blessed Are the Peacemakers

The stupid, futile war in Ukraine which the Biden administration helped to cause in order to make Russia “bleed” may soon be ending, if The Daily Mail is correct. It reports, based on so-far unconfirmed leaks:

US president Donald Trump will try to force Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to a ceasefire with Russia by Easter under a peace plan, according to a report.

Trump, who has long claimed that he would be able to negotiate an ending to the brutal invasion of Ukraine in a single day, is said to be working to end the war within 100 days.

The unconfirmed plans, reported by Ukrainian outlet Strana, have been doing the rounds in ‘political and diplomatic circles’ in Ukraine, and will include a ceasefire by April 20 that would freeze Russia’s steady advance, a ban on Ukraine from joining NATO, and a demand for Kyiv to accept Russian sovereignty on annexed land.
