The Brew: Joe Jetting to Europe, While The View Wants to Jail Tulsi Rather Than Debate Her

By Al Perrotta Published on March 16, 2022

Happy Wednesday!

Today is “No Selfies Day.” How will the Kardashians and Jenners ever survive?

It’s also “National Lips Appreciation Day.” After two years of masks, we’re finally able to appreciate lips again.

Also, in conjunction with “No Selfies Day,” today is “No Pouty Lips for a Selfie Day.” Or at least it should be.

Joe Biden Heading to Europe Next Week

Joe Biden will be heading to Brussels next week to meet with NATO and foreign leaders over the Ukrainian war. I mention this to correct those who think Air Force One is only capable of flying to Delaware. “The President is a big believer in face-to-face diplomacy,” said press secretary Jen Psaki. (Just don’t get too close, warns the Duchess of Cornwall with a chuckle. Or stand upwind.)

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris again suggested Ukraine is part of NATO. Even Zelensky concedes “Ukraine will not become a member of NATO.”

Speaking of Zelensky, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green has a question:

The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended 165,000 illegal immigrants trying to cross the border in February. That’s up over 60% from last year. In case you were wondering, that’s 15,000 more than the estimated number of Russian soldiers who crossed Ukraine’s border.

UPDATE: Woman Who Interrupted Russian News Cast Fined. Still Could Face Harsher Punishment

On Monday, Russia Channel One editor Mariana Ovsyannikova crashed the set of Russia’s top news program to protest the Ukraine war. After appearing to disappear for a day, Mariana showed up in a Russian court Tuesday. She was fined 30,000 rubles — roughly $270 — for organizing unsanctioned actions.

Mariana is not off the hook yet. She is also under investigation for publicly expressing false information about the Russian military. It’s a new law imposed a day after Russia’s invasion. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison.

If you missed her epic protest, here it is:

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was “grateful” for Mariana’s protest. Russians aren’t getting the truth about what’s going on. Were Russia Chanel One any more dishonest, they could change their name to CNN.

UPDATE: Did US Cave to Russian Demands to Save Iran Nuke Deal?

Last week, Russia upended a new Iran Nuke Deal by suddenly hitting the U.S. with new demands. Russia wanted Russian trade with Iran to be exempt from all the new sanctions.

Naturally, the U.S. told Russia where they could put their demands, right? Right? Not according to Russia’s Foreign Minister. Sergie Lavrov told reporters when meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Moscow, “We have received written guarantees” from the U.S. that Russia-Iran trade is exempt.

We’ll see if that turns out to be true. Or maybe we won’t. Obama-Biden’s original Iran Nuke Deal had side deals kept secret from the American people and Congress.

A Proposition for Mitt Romney Re: Ukraine Biolabs

Is that Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan, a weapons facility? No. But if someone jumps in an F150 and slams into a crowd of people, is it a weapon?

U.S. officials insist there are no biological weapons labs in Ukraine, that Ukraine doesn’t have any WMD programs. They do have biological research labs and “biodefense” laboratories. Just the News has the latest quotes. But if the stuff in those “biodefense” labs gets out — or is weaponized — aren’t you just as dead?

Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day.

Unfortunately, if you suggest as Tulsi Gabbard has … as State Dept. official Victoria Nuland has … that pathogens in those labs could prove mighty dangerous, Sen. Mitt Romney says you’re a traitorous liar pushing Russian propaganda.

I have an easy way to settle this: Let’s make a deal, Mitt. If you are willing to store all the stuff in those labs in your many mansions, I’ll give up saying the stuff in those labs could be dangerous.

The View Wants to Put People Like Tulsi Gabbard in Jail

Why? Because they’re too scared to death to put her in the guest host chair. Co-hosts Ana Navarro and Whoopi Goldberg called for the DOJ to investigate criminal prosecutions for Gabbard and Tucker Carlson. Why? For taking money from the oligarchs?

Navarro calls them “Russian propagandists and shilling for Putin,” and wants the DOJ investigating them like they do Russian oligarchs. Funny. She doesn’t mind Hunter Biden actually being paid millions by Russian oligarchs. Gabbard and Carlson have only veered from the party line by discussing Ukraine’s biological labs — and Navarro apparently thinks that’s worse.

Forget an investigation. Whoopi’s ready to throw them in jail right now. “They used to arrest people for doing stuff like this,” Goldberg said. “If they thought you were colluding with a Russian agent or putting out information or taking information and handing it over to Russia, they used to actually investigate stuff like this. And I guess now, you know, there seems to be no bars.”

So what would she call Bill and Hillary Clinton getting paid millions upon millions of dollars by Russians … to the point Russians were caught on tape by an FBI informer boasting about how they “owned” the Clintons? Hillary was also instrumental in setting up Russia’s equivalent of Silicon Valley, helping Putin secure dual use technology in the process.

Remember Hillary’s Russian “Re-Set”? Remember Hillary’s campaign teaming with Russian agents to try and frame Donald Trump with the Trump Russia Collusion hoax?

All well and good. But say, “Gee, what’s the deal with those biolabs Victoria Nuland says the State Department is so worried about?” and you’re Benedict Arnold.

US Wholesale Price Inflation Surged to 10% in February, the Highest Annual Increase on Record

10%? Again, the Big Guy with his 10%’s.

Oh Goodie: Prosecutors Talking Plea Deals With Five Men Detained at Gitmo for Planning and Providing Assistance for the Sept. 11 Attacks.

Prosecutors are conducting plea deal negotiations with five terrorists detained at Gitmo for their role in the 9/11 attacks. Including mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammad.

Sure, they plotted and killed 3,000 Americans. But at least they didn’t take selfies in the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Those prisoners have been sitting there for years. So why plea bargain now? Could it have anything to do with hearings beginning next week on Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson? Jackson’s resume includes pro bono work on behalf of Gitmo detainees. The RNC stated: “Despite Jackson’s claim that she did not get to choose her clients as a public defender, she continued to advocate for Guantanamo terrorists when she went into private practice.”

Republicans on the Senate Judicial Committee will be asking Jackson about her work for the terrorists. Perhaps they might want to ask her feelings about the millions being spent on her behalf by a dark money group headed by a guy who called the Constitution “trash.”

I know that’s not nearly as important as Brett Kavanaugh’s high school yearbook. But it might be worth a question or two.

Meanwhile, it’s funny how those celebrating Jackson’s work for Islamic 9/11 terrorists seem indifferent to the lack of decent representation for the J6 political prisoners.

Just up: John G. Malcolm takes “A Look at Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Most Noteworthy Judicial Decisions.”

Along The Stream

Netflix, Google, Reddit, Visa and a Christian camp in Branson. What do they have in common? They’ve all made the National Center on Sexual Exploitation’s 2022 “Dirty Dozen” list of mainstream entities that perpetuate sexual exploitation. The Stream’s Aliya Kuykendall has the details.
