The Brew: Is Obama in the Crosshairs Now?
Harry Truman famously said of his presidential desk, “The buck stops here.” Richard Nixon finally had to resign in (vastly exaggerated) disgrace over the petty crimes his underlings committed in the Watergate scandal. In previous Western history, anointed monarchs got forced to abdicate, and sometimes were even executed, for corrupt or tyrannical acts.
In any political system, the person in highest authority must take responsibility for abuses he ordered or even enabled. We call that principle accountability, and we insist on it for the future safety of freedom. Power tends to corrupt, and if there’s no price for abusing it, it corrupts absolutely.
But what about our Teflon ex-president? Barack Obama, almost uniquely among U.S. presidents, refused to move out of Washington, D.C., after leaving office. Instead he maintained a vast power network, with his loyalists infesting the permanent government and the intelligence community (the Deep State). He once quipped that he wouldn’t object to having a presidential successor who just served as a front man, while Obama really ran things via remote control and his old appointees. (In case you were wondering who really governed from 2021-24.)
Obama’s wife, Michelle, went on television during the 2020 Democratic National Convention and actually threatened Americans: If they didn’t vote for Biden, she claimed, the Antifa/BLM riots would only get worse. You terrified peons should vote “like your lives depend on it.”
And now we’re finding out that Obama, while still in office, ordered his subordinates to weaponize a transparently fake dossier compiled by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and pretend that it was valid intelligence suggesting that Donald Trump had colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. As planned, that helped paralyze Trump in office, subjected his supporters to ruinous lawfare, sparked the multimillion-dollar snipe hunt that was the Mueller investigation, and resulted in a fake impeachment of a sitting president.
We’re also learning how ex-CIA head John Brennan apparently deep-sixed real intel on how the Clinton campaign was falsifying a “Russia collusion” plot to distract from her illegal misuse of State Department data. God willing, we’ll soon see indictments from Attorney General Pam Bondi against high-level conspirators for lying under oath before Congress.
Once again, our thanks to the courageous Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for dragging all this filth into the light of day. If one-fifth of what she alleges turns out to be true, this is the greatest presidential scandal in U.S. history:
Anyone who knows US history knows the #Obamagate scandal that’s breaking RIGHT NOW is 100 times worse than Watergate. Not twice or ten times worse. It’s like comparing the eruption of Mount St. Helen’s to an M-80. Educate yourself, America. And stay tuned. https://t.co/x1aWjeKygq

Will Obama pay any price for his part in orchestrating what Gabbard called a “years-long coup” against an elected president? Revolver News hopes so, citing Gabbard’s monster-thread on X. Revolver notes that “the former president is now at the center of the entire Russia Hoax conspiracy. Not a bystander. Not a clueless observer. The director of the operation.” Liberal journalist Matt Taibbi agrees:
Barack Obama Now Squarely in Russiagate Crosshairs
Former president @BarackObama is now at “center square” of @TulsiGabbard‘s Russiagate investigation, and documents suggest his legacy — maybe even his freedom — are in jeopardy… pic.twitter.com/QelvHVtFF2

Charlie Kirk expands on the theme:
BREAKING — DNI Tulsi Gabbard has just declassified documents that show “overwhelming evidence” that then President Barack Obama personally requested, and intentionally “manufactured and politicized intelligence” to create the narrative that Russia was attempting to influence… pic.twitter.com/hWavaJ3IYc

Will we see Obama in an orange jumpsuit some day, as President Trump playfully suggested in an AI video he released on Truth Social?
The Next Nelson Mandela?
Let’s not get our hopes up, or let the best be the enemy of the good. With the vast cultural power and institutional influence Obama accumulated during his career as the agent of “Hope and Change,” an ersatz messiah for those whose post-Christian religion is White Guilt, his prosecution would be politically fraught. Trump might see it as counterproductive, galvanizing black voters the Democrats have been driving off with their embrace of infinite immigration. If you think federal judges are willing to bias themselves and torture the law in defense of random foreign gangbangers, just visualize the pretzels they’ll be glad to twist themselves into to Keep Obama Free.
There’s a better way. By all means, collect all the evidence that exists of Obama’s attempted coup. Prosecute every last one of his underlings to the fullest extent of the law. Force some to publicly testify against him as the price of diminished sentences, dragging his unearned good name through the muck of his own making.
The goal? Not a prison cell from which Obama could LARP as Nelson Mandela, persecuted by another “apartheid regime” as part of the “systemic racism” that incarcerates far too many proud black American men already … the media script writes itself. I can already hear lavender Jesuits, low-IQ bishops, and Soros-funded Evangelicals for Harris delivering maudlin sermons to the tune of the world’s tiniest violin.
No, leave Obama out on the street, still “walking black” as he once was coached how to do. But slather his name with disgrace, as Richard Nixon’s once was. Let him become an embarrassment to his “community,” like P. Diddy, Al Capone, and Jeffrey Epstein. Investigate his nonprofits, including his scandal-prone, monstrous presidential library. Start talking about his attempted coup as what it was: the kind of squalid power grab common among African dictators — a subject he knows so well from his major in Post-Colonial Studies.
The Romans had a phrase for the fate that Obama deserves. When a public figure betrayed the nation, they blotted out his name, tore down his statues, and consigned him to oblivion. Rome called that “damnatio memoriae” — meaning, “Let his memory be accursed.”
Justice Department to Meet with Ghislaine Maxwell
It may be that Tulsi Gabbard was given the green light to release the vast dump of evidence against Obama and his team to shift the national conversation away from the squalid, still-murky case of Jeffrey Epstein’s death — seeing that he is widely suspected of being tied to U.S. and perhaps foreign intelligence agencies. But that issue won’t go away, so it’s welcome to hear from Attorney General Pam Bondi that we might see transparency via the most well-informed living source: Epstein’s literal partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell:
Statement from @DAGToddBlanche:
This Department of Justice does not shy away from uncomfortable truths, nor from the responsibility to pursue justice wherever the facts may lead. The joint statement by the DOJ and FBI of July 6 remains as accurate today as it was when it was…
— Attorney General Pamela Bondi (@AGPamBondi) July 22, 2025
And Congress is finally acting:

What Is Alan Dershowitz Smoking?
On the down side, former Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz is apparently urging the Trump administration to consider commuting Maxwell’s sentence, according to Just The News:
“Certainly she should get a commutation. The sentence was way, way, way in excess of anything she was alleged to have done,” he told the Daily Mail. “She was in part a victim of Epstein. The fact that Epstein died made her a primary target and caused an excessive sentence to her. Some executive clemency is very much warranted in her case.”
That’s perhaps the Dumbest Idea in Political History.
It’s one thing to offer Maxwell limited immunity that prevents her from pleading the Fifth Amendment when testifying before Congress. It’s quite another to give fuel to the grimmest conspiracy theorists on Earth by cutting the sentence of an unrepentant, high-rolling trafficker of children. That would tell America the Deep State looks out for its own, no matter who is in the White House.
Along The Stream…
When rainbow pastors and their fans — like Chip and Joanna Gaines — claim that “Do Not Judge” is the be-all and end-all of how Christians should react to sin, are they grossly misreading the Bible? Shane Idleman explains.
