The Brew: DNI Tulsi Gabbard Releases Evidence of Obama’s Coup Attempt Against Trump in 2016

I hate to say “We told you so” … but we did.

Since 2016, The Stream has been one of the few outlets (along with Revolver News, War Room, LindellTV, and Gateway Pundit — the list is short) that has consistently warned citizens what was really happening to them: a Deep State, two-party coup against the American people by their own elites and institutions.

You were watching a puppet show.

Sometimes we tried to be funny, explaining the behavior of Republicans like Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Paul Ryan, and John McCain in terms of the Washington Generals — the team of hapless white guys tasked with going out every night and losing gracefully to the Harlem Globetrotters. One night the Generals’ players got a wild hair and decided to win. They did, and a riot almost ensued. They’d broken the unspoken rules. The team was disciplined, and it never happened again.

That was the 2016 election of Donald Trump as president, and the Generals’ managers (the establishment GOP) teamed up with the Globetrotters managers (the Deep State) to nullify the results. Trump must be crippled in office, perhaps even removed, and anyone who supported him must be driven from public life — or even imprisoned (witness (Mike Flynn, Peter Navarro, the January 6 protestors, etc.).

Other times, we pointed to historical analogies: the efforts of the Polish Communist establishment and judiciary to render moot Solidarity’s victory in 1989, for instance. A more recent and tragic example was the British Conservative party squandering the voters’ mandate for Brexit: The people voted for looser ties with Europe and huge cuts in immigration, and instead they got fresh waves of Pakistani rape gangs, a Labour resurgence, and prison terms for those who complained about their country’s colonization.

No more need for metaphors. Now we have the proof.

Our most powerful security agencies (the CIA, the FBI) used the vast, unaccountable power one wing of the Uniparty (the George W. Bush administration) gave them via the Patriot Act to transform themselves into a political secret police apparat akin to that in old East Germany. The Obama loyalists who manned the Deep State cooperated with the Bush loyalists who ran the GOP to try to crush Trump and his unruly, populist supporters.

Need visual proof that those two factions were collaborators and pals? Look no further than the imperial funeral of Sen. John McCain, which gathered both wings of the Establishment to mark that hero’s passing. Trump was specifically disinvited, and the after-party featured Michelle Obama and George W. Bush virtually smooching.

While your gag reflex settles down, let’s look at the new information Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard just released. Here’s Gabbard herself explaining for seven minutes the nature of the disturbing facts she uncovered, and the enormous pressure she faced not to release it to the U.S. public. Please, for the sake of our future, sit down and pay close attention all the way through.

Put briefly: The Obama White House reacted to Donald Trump’s surprise win in 2016 by taking politicized agitprop from the Hillary Clinton campaign that senior CIA and FBI officials knew to be completely unreliable, and authorized a major counterintelligence investigation against Trump and his team on the theory that they were Russian assets — and that Russia had interfered with the 2016 election.

Everyone on the Obama team knew these accusations were false, but they weaponized them anyway to enact what Gabbard calls a “year-long coup” attempt against Trump. It resulted in two fake impeachment attempts, the arrest of innocent members of Trump’s team, and a year’s worth of manufactured drama — all based on lies. Recall that the same intelligence community, four years later, would conspire to hoodwink the public that the contents of Hunter Biden’s crime-diary laptop were “Russian disinformation,” using the CIA to shut down on social media anyone who dissented from this Deep State cover story. Our major media, including most hosts at Fox News, colluded to hide the truth and promote official lies.

The Russia collusion hoax trashed U.S. relations with Russia and laid the groundwork for the war in Ukraine that Vladimir Putin launched when Joe Biden was propped up in the White House after a corrupt, insecure election riddled with untraceable mail-in ballots — made legal under the pretext of “public health” during the COVID panic. The casualties in Ukraine now approach a million, mostly European Christians — the one group on Earth it’s acceptable to hate and dispossess of their nations. This was no victimless crime.

We see in stark black and white how cancerous our elites really are. That’s what Trump and his team are having to deal with, including thousands of enemies embedded in the institutions they’re allegedly controlling. Pray hard.

Trump Sues Fox News for Printing “Fake” Birthday Card to Jeffrey Epstein

Fox News has served since 2016 as controlled opposition, a venue where isolated facts about the Deep State might be aired while the deeper truth is obscured. The Trump team’s imponderable fondness for Fox has flummoxed truth-tellers for years, as we’ve asked ourselves why he helps prop up Fox’s ratings instead of highlighting “alternative” venues willing to expose scandals like the COVID panic, election fraud, and the January 6 fedsurrection. Now Fox’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein manure maelstrom has finally pushed Trump himself to bite the hand he’s been feeding:

Here’s hoping that Trump starts sending his team members to better venues that don’t tow the Deep State party line 95% of the time, and that multiple mealy-mouthed Fox shows follow Stephen Colbert’s newly canceled late-night snoozefest into well-deserved obscurity.

U.S. Rejects Nightmarish World Health Organization Pandemic Power-Grab

Gateway Pundit brings even more welcome news:

RFK Jr. just said NO to the World Health Organization’s new pandemic rules, a blueprint for medical tyranny, which would have given the WHO authority to impose global lockdowns, travel bans, school closures, vaccine passports, and digital health IDs. The treaty would bypass Congress and allow the WHO to impose restrictions on Americans without checks and balances and without the consent of the American people.

On July 18, 2025, the United States officially rejected key amendments to the World Health Organization’s pandemic preparedness treaty, citing concerns over national sovereignty and vague, overreaching authority that could allow the WHO to unilaterally declare health emergencies and impose mandates.

United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Secretary of State Marco Rubio jointly denounced the treaty, warning that it lacked public input, used ambiguous language, and elevated political ideals like “solidarity” above national preparedness. They also flagged provisions for global surveillance, digital health documentation, and narrative control, raising fears of international censorship and institutionalized propaganda.

Huckabee Criticizes Israel

We reported Friday on several incidents that suggest the Israeli government is allowing rogue elements (including military officers) to mistreat local Christians. Now Ambassador Mike Huckabee, who has always strongly supported Israel, is echoing complaints from the Vatican and Christians on the ground about Israeli policies. Here’s Huckabee commenting on the recent attacks far-right Israeli settlers have made on Palestinian Christians in the West Bank with no known Hamas connections:

Remember that there’s a clear, logical distinction between the Jewish people and the current government of Israel, just as there was between Americans and the Biden administration. Criticizing the latter doesn’t mean you don’t love the former. Friends of Israel should be putting pressure on that government not to squander the vast good will U.S. Christians have toward the Jewish people, on which Israel’s future arguably depends.
