The Brew: Churches and Justices Targeted for Pro-Abortion Protests, as U2 Plays Surprise Gig in Kyiv

All-nighters before finals ... ah, the memories.

By Al Perrotta Published on May 9, 2022

Happy Monday!

Hope you enjoyed Mother’s Day and on Saturday, Birth-Mother’s Day, which honors those brave women (and young girls) who chose life and adoption over abortion. Our family says, “We love you, times three.”

Pro-Abortion Forces Protest (and Attack) Churches

The demonic spirits that fuel the fervor for abortion came out of hiding over the weekend and took dead aim at houses of God.

New York’s Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral was one church targeted for protests. “I’m killing babies!” bellowed one protester. “Abortion is a gift,” said one sign. Yeah? From who?

And there was this, also in NYC.

They were called into action by a new dark money funded group called “Ruth Sent Us.” For Mother’s Day. Can’t think of much more grotesque than swarming churches for Mother’s Day to celebrate mothers killing their babies on Mother’s Day at churches.

Pro-Abortion Forces Target Homes of SCOTUS Justices

Meanwhile, protesters marched at the homes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh Saturday night.

Between 50 and 100 people were at Kavanaugh’s home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, reported the Daily Wire. The outlet noted that it is against Maryland code to protest at homes.

It’s also against Federal law to harass judges (and jurors). 18 U.S. Code § 1507 forbids “pickets or parades in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer” with the intent of “interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice.”

“No uterus, no opinion” … shouted people oblivious to the fact that 7 men without uteruses voted for Roe in the first place.

Meanwhile, a pro-life organization in Wisconsin was hit with Molotov cocktails and threats.

“Devout” Catholic Joe Biden is silent on all this, of course. Beyond Jen Psaki dismissing the efforts to intimidate the justices: “The president’s view is that there is a lot of passion.” And the White House Sunday issued a bland statement supporting the protests, but warned against “intimidation.”

But as Steve Hilton pointed out on Twitter, this is the same White House who accused parents of being domestic terrorists if they stood up at school board meetings.

Biden Reminisces Fondly About Having Lunch with “Real Segregationists.”

There he goes again. Biden reminisces fondly about having lunch with “real segregationists.”

Biden was at an event in Hamilton, Ohio Friday with the state’s two U.S. Senators, when he let loose this doozy.

We always used to fight like hell even back in the old days when we had real segregationists like Eastland and Thurmond, all those guys, but we ended up eating lunch together. Things have changed. We got to bring it back.

Most folks criticizing Biden are focusing on the fact he is again making a racially awkward remark in a career filled with them. True enough, but his bigger point was the lack of civility in politics … just days after calling the “MAGA crowd” the most extreme political organization in American history. This includes the Klan, Aryan Nation, ANTIFA, BLM, the Weather Underground, Black Panthers, the New Black Panthers, the anarchist movement which ended up killing a U.S. president … need I go on?

One more thing to note: Biden’s happy to have lunch with segregationists. But won’t meet with border agents at the border.

Come to think of it, every time he meets with proponents of Critical Race Theory, he’s meeting with segregationists.

The View’s Sunny Hostin Can’t Stand Blacks and Hispanics Thinking for Themselves

Remember when Biden said a Black who didn’t support him wasn’t really Black? Add The View’s Sunny Hostin to the list of liberals irate when Blacks and Hispanics think for themselves and step off the Democratic plantation.

Hostin on Friday declared “Black Republicans” an “oxymoron.” Yes, she puts the moron in oxymoron. She was utterly befuddled by guest co-host Lindsay Granger being a Black Republican. After a testy exchange, Hostin snarled, “I don’t understand Black Republicans and I don’t understand Hispanic Republicans.”

Responded Granger, “No you don’t understand yourself then.”

Interestingly, the segment was about new White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre being the romantic partner of CNN reporter Suzanne Malveaux. Granger thought it created a conflict of interest. You think?

Then again, the entirety of CNN is in bed with the White House.

Sinister Effort to DQ MTG Fails

Democratic motto. If you can’t beat ‘em, cheat ‘em. A sinister new effort this election cycle is to go to court to try and prevent candidates from running. A specific effort is trying to disqualify candidates who were vocal about the 2020 election fraud, particularly around January 6, claiming they took part in an “insurrection,” ergo would be ineligible under the Constitution. There was no insurrection. But don’t let that stop you.

In this case, prosecutors claimed Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “voluntarily aided and engaged in an insurrection to obstruct the peaceful transfer of presidential power.” Could just as easily and truthfully said she “aided and engaged in a naked pie throwing contest.”

On Friday a Georgia state judge recommended that MTG should stay on the ballot, saying the persecutors hadn’t shown sufficient evidence Greene engaged in any insurrection. His recommendation goes to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger.

Funny. There’s nothing MTG said leading up to J6 that’s any different than what Democrats have been saying since the SCOTUS leak.

Ironically — or tellingly — the idea of trying to DQ candidates is the brainchild of former Perkins Coie lawyer Marc Elias. The same Marc Elias who was a key player in the effort to fix the 2016 election for Hillary Clinton with the Trump-Russia Black Op.

Hillary Clinton, Of All People, Said What?!

Of all the people in the United States who shouldn’t say a darn thing about a “direct attack” on democracy it’s Hillary Clinton. It’s like Bill Clinton lecturing on fidelity. Chelsea Clinton complaining about nepotism.

But there she was.

Hillary was on PBS warning this coming election is about the “extremism” of the Republican Party, the “rise of authoritarianism.” “This is a direct attack on our democracy,” she intoned. Like George Clinton complaining about flashy stage presence. (A shout out to Parliament Funkadelic fans.)

The woman who paid a whole host of people millions to create the illusion Trump was in cahoots with the Russians in order to win in 2016 (and distract from her own crimes and Russian links). Who when she still ended up getting beat refused to accept that defeat, nor condemn the violence that followed in the wake of Trump’s victory.

If they refuse to “lock her up,” you’d hope she’d have the decency to shut herself up. But noooo, not with 2024 looming and Biden failing and Harris flailing. And Buttigieg disappearing onto maternity leave when the supply chain was falling apart. You can bet we’ll be hearing a lot from Newsweek’s “Madam President” in the coming months.

U2’s Bono and the Edge Perform Surprise Concert in Kiev

A Kyiv subway station being used as a bomb shelter was hit by 2 U2’s Sunday. Two members of the legendary Irish rock band U2. Singer Bono and guitarist The Edge performed a 40 minute set down in the Khreshchatyk metro station as a “show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”

Here’s the duo, joined by a Ukrainian soldier for “Stand by Ukraine” to the tune of “Stand by Me.”

Quite a risk going to Kyiv for the gig. Then again, it’s safer than playing in the New York subway.
