The Brew: A Toast to Life, Liberty, and Tin Foil Hats

WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 24: US Vice President JD Vance speaks on stage as people attend the annual March for Life rally on the National Mall on January 24, 2025 in Washington, DC.

Happy Monday!

Today’s Brew begins with a toast to life.

Trump Stops Federal Funding of Abortion While Vance Tells March for Life He “Wants More Babies” …

… for America, that is.

As tens of thousands gathered in Washington, D.C. for the annual March for Life this weekend, President Donald Trump signed an executive order ending the use of federal dollars to fund or promote elective abortions. He also reinstated the so-called “Mexico City Policy” to stop taxpayer money from paying for abortions conducted in other countries. (By contrast, Joe Biden had ignored the Hyde Amendment, launched a full government push to fund abortions, and weaponized the FACE Act to go over pro-life activists.)

Meanwhile, J.D. Vance, in his first public address as vice president, told the chilled but cheering crowd at the 52nd annual March, “I want more babies in the United States of America. I want more happy children in our country, and I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome them into the world and eager to raise them.”

The weekend also saw joyful family reunions for those previously caught up in the FACE Act persecutions. Here’s Bevelyn Williams reuniting with her husband and child. She’d been sentenced to 41 months for protesting outside a DC abortion mill where a doctor had been caught performing late-term and partial-birth abortions.

Reunited, and it feels so good …

Victory! Charges Dropped Against Doctor Who Exposed Texas Hospital’s Mutilation of Children

Dr. Eithan Haim is in the clear.

Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston continued to perform sex change surgeries on children after administrators swore they’d stop … and lied about it. Haim blew the whistle on the mutilations, providing the evidence to journalist Christopher Rufo. And for his effort to protect minors, Biden’s thugs at the Department of Jsutice arrested him and rang him up on four criminal charges.

On Friday, the new Trump DOJ dropped all four.

“We didn’t think this would happen. We took on the federal leviathan and we won,” Haim told The Free Press while celebrating the news. “This is epic. This is like Lord of the Rings.”

Vindication for the Tin Foil Hats: Radcliffe Releases CIA Report That Assesses COVID Came from Lab Leak

Here’s some more vindication for the folks in the tin foil hats: Remember how the establishment/Big Tech regime shamed, silenced, and punished people who believed the COVID-19 virus sprang from the virology laboratory in Wuhan China, which was in the business of concocting such viruses? Well, looky here. On his first day on the job, new CIA Director John Ratcliffe released what is being called a “new” analysis that favors the lab-leak origins of the virus. This would be a reversal of the CIA’s earlier assessment (which was released after some arm-twististing from Dr. Anthony Fauci, who helped fund the lab in China.)

The new analysis had been ordered as the Biden administration was on its way out the door.

It’s no surprise that Ratcliffe would move quickly on this. He told the Heritage Foundation last summer that when he was the director of National Intelligence in 2020, he asked to see evidence that COVID occurred naturally. There was no such evidence. All of it pointed the other way.

What will be the great parlor game of 2025? We think it’ll be just how many “conspiracy theories” will be proven true, thanks to the new administration.

Dramatic Reduction of Border Entries as Trump 47 Finds Tens of Thousands of Kids Biden “Lost”

Now this is really weird. Shocking even. It turns out if you close a border, a lot fewer people illegally cross it. Unbelievable, right?

Department of Homeland Security sources told Fox News Digital that border encounters dropped 35% in the first three days of the new Trump administration, compared to the the final three days of Biden’s.

NewsNation’s Ali Bradley reported that last Wednesday, Border Patrol agents had encountered fewer than 500 illegal aliens (by 8 p.m.). Compare that to the 14,000 a day who were crossing at the height of the Biden border invasion.

I wanted to see if this concept applied in real life, so I went to the bathroom sink. It turns out that if you turn a faucet off, water stops coming out.

J.D. Vance appeared on Face the Nation Sunday and immediately proved why having him as vice president is such a huge upgrade for America. When CBS News’ Margaret Brennan questioned the humaneness of the deportations, citing the leftist talking point that our nation was “founded by immigrants,” Vance clapped back, “Just because we were founded by immigrants doesn’t mean that 240 years later we have to have the dumbest immigration policy in the world.”

This response was so good, the Veep could have been called for “roughing the interviewer.”

Meanwhile, in deadly serious business, Fox News is reporting that Trump 47 has already located between 75,000 and 80,000 of the 300,000 children illegally trafficked into the nation and “lost” by the Biden-Harris administration. Praise God, and let’s pray they find the rest of them safe and sound.

The immediate question: Why did it take only three or four days to find these kids? Were the Biden people that lazy, disinterested, and incompetent? Or was it something worse?

Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller vows that the new administration will investigate “every instance of child trafficking, labor trafficking, sex trafficking, child smuggling, and all the attendant crimes involved in that.”

From top to bottom of the Brew, it’s been a good few days for children.

Fly “Egles”, Fly!

Congratulations to running back Saquon Barkley and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles for their decisive win Sunday over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game. Usually, it’s a safe bet to root for the city whose mayor can spell the team’s name, but alas …  it was not to be. Philadelphia is heading to New Orleans to face winner of the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. (Which finishes up after my bedtime … I mean, deadline.)

Congratulations also to the Commanders and their rookie phenom Jayden Daniels, who may have lost yesterday, but whose magical season has revived the spirit of long-suffering Washington fans. An entire generation had grown up without tasting any football success, who’ve now experienced their first sip. Who now have a glimpse of what their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles have been talking about.

And it’s a good thing for America. You can talk all you want about Dallas being “America’s team,” but if the Washington football team has the Nation’s Capital in a good, harmonious mood, everybody benefits.
