The Brew: A Day of Drama at the White House and on Capitol Hill
Meanwhile, FEMA supervisor who ordered subordinates to pass over the homes of Trump supporters says the directive came from above.
Happy Wednesday!
Better gulp this Brew down fast, because it’s going to be a busy day.
Trump Returns to the White House as GOP Prepares to Choose a Majority Leader (and Perhaps Challenge Speaker Johnson)
President-Elect Donald Trump will be checking out his old digs today. He’s scheduled to meet with Joe Biden at 11 a.m. at the White House to discuss the transition of power. Is it too much to ask for him to pull up to the White House gates in that MAGA garbage truck? Will he bring a signed MAGA hat to thank Biden for his contributions to the Trump campaign? Will Biden compliment Trump for having such good English for a twentieth-century German dictator?
Another sign that Biden is soooooo done with the White House: a reporter asked if he could get a hostage deal done by the end of his term. Biden replied, “Do you think you can get hit in the head by the camera behind you?”
Wtf just happened?

In addition to meeting with Biden and his note cards, Trump is expected to head up to Capitol Hill to meet with House Republicans. There may also be a battle brewing there. According to The Hill, conservative Republicans are planning to challenge House Speaker Mike Johnson when they vote. Who will be put up to run against Johnson was unknown.
In the Senate, the GOP also will be voting on who will become the new majority leader. Annoyingly, the vote is secret. Will the Trump-supporting Sen. Rick Scott be able to overtake the McConnell-esque John Thune and John Cornyn?
FEMA Supervisor: ‘I’m Being Scapegoated’
Whoa, boy. The FEMA supervisor who was fired for ordering workers in Lake Placid, Florida, to pass over houses with Trump signs says she’s being scapegoated. Marn’i Washington told Roland Martin that FEMA is lying about it being an “isolated incident,” and claims the order came from above.
This is not isolated. This is a colossal event of avoidance, not just in the state of Florida, but you will find avoidance in the Carolinas. Senior leadership will lie to you and tell you they do not know. But if you ask the DSA crew leads and specialists what they are experiencing in the field, they will tell you. Demand from FEMA they give you those incident reports.
The FEMA official who was just fired for telling workers to avoid homes impacted by the hurricanes in Florida if they had Trump signs says that it was not "isolated" and that FEMA workers were instructed to do it in the Carolinas too. pic.twitter.com/BpBdZFSSPR

Former Arkansas governor and friend to The Stream Mike Huckabee has been named U.S. ambassador to Israel.
CNN and MSNBC Meltdowns
CNN is looking at massive layoffs over the next several months, possibly including major on-air talent, thanks to dismal ratings and diminished impact, Puck News was the first to report Tuesday.
I said six years ago after her failed daytime stint at NBC that CNN should send a dump truck full of money to Megyn Kelly’s house and make her the prime time face of the network. But no. Now she’s a podcasting powerhouse, and CNN’s stinking like an outhouse.
Meanwhile at MSNBC, prime time ratings have dropped more than 50% since the election. That’s not terribly surprising. Do you think their viewers want to be reminded that they got their butts whipped last week? They don’t want to tune in now any more than Fox News viewers did in 2020 after the network called the presidential results in Arizona early. But the ratings drop is bad news for Comcast, which owns MSNBC and has been looking to sell the network.
What do you think Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, and the rest of them would fetch on Ebay?
More seriously, Daily Wire founder Jeremy Boreing offered the intriguing possibility that he might purchase the network.
Do I…
Do I have to buy MSNBC? https://t.co/txwRFvHUQg

Winning: Woman Fired for Not Taking the Jab Gets $12 Million Payout
Lisa Domski is a wealthy woman today. A Michigan jury awarded her $12 million after Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan unceremoniously fired her for refusing to take the COVID jab. Domski, a Catholic who had spent 30 years working for BCBSM, said the shot violated her religious beliefs.
Said her lawyer Jon Marko in a statement:
Neither the government nor a corporation has a right to force an individual to choose between his or her career and conscience. Lisa refused to renounce her faith and beliefs and was wrongfully terminated from the only job she had ever known. The jury’s verdict today tells BCBSM that religious discrimination has no place in America, and affirms each person’s right to religious freedom.
Archbishop of Canterbury Resigns Over Handling of Sex Abuse Scandal
The Archbishop of Canterbury, head of the Church of England, has resigned. Justin Welby was forced to resign after an investigation revealed that he failed to notify police when he became aware of serious physical and sexual abuse by a volunteer at a Christian camp.
“It is very clear that I must take personal and institutional responsibility for the long and retraumatizing period between 2013 and 2024,” Welby said in announcing his resignation. “I believe that stepping aside is in the best interests of the Church of England, which I dearly love and which I have been honored to serve.”
Russian Parliament Nixes Adoptions to Countries That Allow Transgender Surgeries
Russia’s lower house of parliament has approved a bill that says nyet to letting parents in to countries that allow gender reassignment surgeries adopt Russian orphans. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, who authored the bill, said, “It is extremely important to eliminate possible dangers in the form of gender reassignment that adopted children may face in these countries.”
The U.S. is not on the list because Russia already outlawed adoptions to Americans in 2013.
