Surprise! Gov. Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, in a surprise move, announced Friday that he is endorsing Donald Trump.
“I’ve been on that stage. I’ve gotten to know all the people on that stage,” he said at a press conference with Trump in Texas, “And there is no one better prepared to provide America with the strong leadership that it needs both at home and around the world than Donald Trump.”
Less than a month ago, Christie accused Trump of being a whiny child. But today it was all praise.
In endorsing the New York businessman, Gov. Christie took shots at former rivals Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. “The best person to beat Hillary Clinton in November on that stage last night is undoubtedly Donald Trump,” Christie said,”They know how to run the standard political playbook against junior senators and run them around the block. They do not know the playbook with Donald Trump because he is rewriting the playbook.”
Added Christie, “We don’t need any more of these Washington D.C. acts.”
“This was an endorsement that really meant a lot,” said Trump.
The reaction to Christie’s announcement has been one of shock.

The Christie endorsement comes a day after the billionaire earned the endorsement of former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, who said a vote against Trump is “treason to your heritage.” Trump said Friday he disavows the endorsement.
