Stream Senior Editor Tom Gilson in Top 10 of Feedspot Top 100 Christian Blogs

Stream senior editor and ministry coordinator Tom Gilson’s Thinking Christian blog has made Feedspot’s top 10 on its 2016 list of Top 100 Christian Blogs.

Gilson has been blogging on Thinking Christian since October 31, 2004 from a website he says he put together out of his passion for Christ and a desire to equip Christians “to be strong in their faith, knowledge, thinking and strategies so that we can be more effective in reaching others everywhere with the life and love of Christ.” Thinking Christian received about 40,000 page views per month at its peak, and has over 1,200 email subscribers.

Feedspot announced that blogs had to meet several criteria in order to be considered for the list, such as contributing “useful, thought-provoking and inspiring posts about Christianity,” having a unique voice and perspective, having a loyal following and readership, and publishing content at least once a month.

Gilson said he’s encouraged to be in Feedspot’s top ten but also “baffled,” since he was up against a lot of great bloggers for the honor. Gilson said he wouldn’t list the bloggers he looks up to who didn’t make the list because, “There are too many of them.”

Gilson also said that he hopes he represents Christ well through his blog. “My goal through blogging has always been to represent Christianity as a thinking person’s faith, and to do it in a way that also displays the grace we’ve been granted through Jesus Christ,” he said. “He is good. He is very good. Amazingly, for someone who lived 2,000 years ago, he proves himself in every way to be totally worth devoting our hearts and lives to.”

Gilson has served in various ministries over the years, including Campus Crusade for ChristBreakPoint and Ratio Christi. He now serves as a senior editor for The Stream. His latest book is Critical Conversations: A Christian Parents’ Guide to Discussing Homosexuality With Teens.

When he’s not busy writing and blogging, Gilson enjoys spending time with his family, swimming and all kinds of outdoor sports. He says he doesn’t spend his time watching television or movies, with one exception — when his alma mater Michigan State is playing sports on the tube.
