Stephen Powell Brings the Receipts: Todd Bentley, Rick Joyner, and Morningstar Ministries

In this thought-provoking 76-minute video, Wanda Alger talks with Stephen Powell of Lion of Light Ministries about his experiences with failed minister Todd Bentley, as well as the work Powell does now. Powell experienced sexual abuse as a child and entered full-time ministry when he was 30, three years after meeting Bentley for the first time. He recognized early on that many things were wrong there, and blew the whistle in 2019. It turned out that Bentley had been convicted of child rape in his native Canada before becoming a minister, where a pattern of clergy sexual abuse later emerged. Alger and Powell both highlight the need for greater discernment among the flocks, humility among the shepherds — and why we must follow the protocols laid out in Scripture.
