Scott Walker’s Misquote Corrected by Vigilant Tweeters
Winston Churchill once said, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” That was certainly the case this week when the left took something Scott Walker said, applied it to an entirely different context, and started spreading that false story far and wide.
If you haven’t heard, Scott Walker was on Dana Loesch’s radio show, and said that he thought he still had the ultrasounds of his children, who are now 19 and 20. He said of these ultrasounds, “It’s a cool thing out there.” The left then applied that to pro-life, mandatory ultrasound legislation. Headlines claimed things such as “Scott Walker: Forced Ultrasounds are ‘Just a Cool Thing Out There.’” and “Scott Walker: Mandatory Ultrasounds Are ‘Just a Cool Thing’ For Women.”
Of course, that’s not what he said. Some publications corrected their story after being corrected, but @TheDemocrats, the official Twitter account of the party, is still trotting out what has already been exposed as a lie. A few days ago, we might say they had been misinformed and suggest that they check their facts before Tweeting. At this point, though, it seems unlikely that they don’t know the truth.
If they didn’t know it before, they certainly know it now, because Twitter, or Twitter users anyway, isn’t letting them get away with it.
Here’s the original Tweet. I give them credit for using a gif from a great TV show (Community), but that’s about it.
Reminder: This week, Scott Walker defended mandatory ultrasounds by saying they're a “cool thing." pic.twitter.com/jZ6kiYKlEd

The responses were great:
@TheDemocrats Flat out lie. But why ruin your narrative?

.@TheDemocrats related: this week, we learned that the Party of Science *doesn't* think ultrasounds are a cool thing.

.@TheDemocrats No, you're lying. Walker said ultrasounds are a "cool thing," which they are, unless you hate science.

Reminder: this week, @TheDemocrats are still running with a story they know to be patently false.

You know what I didn’t find? One reply supporting their false tweet. Great job at staying vigilant, Twitter users!
