To Know Him

By Nancy Flory Published on April 16, 2017

A man whom few identify

As God’s own son came to die

For all our sins, yours and mine

But far too few know him.

He suffered righteous indignation

For sin and held a great intervention

And promised unbelievers’ sharp rejection

Still far too few know him.

Who’s to blame when all around

Even now we hear the sound

Of Crucify Him! And people frown

And far too few know him.

The lie that serpent brought about

Still lingers in shame and constant doubt

Through Christ sin is rooted out

Yet far too few know him.

Though God Himself paid the price

Through Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice

Not through our will or with our might

Oh! Far too few know him.

Little Girl with Flower in front of Cross - 900We celebrate his resurrection

No more will we feel rejection

Now time has come through our expression

To tell others how to know him.

He gave us the Great Commission

To share the Gospel with His creation

In every land, in every nation

That all who will, will know him.
