Pro-Life Twitter Had a Few Things to Tell the President of Planned Parenthood

Yesterday, the pro-life movement secured a victory. A bill which would protect babies from being aborted after 20 weeks gestation passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with all but six Republicans voting for the bill and all but four Democrats voting against it.

While those who value life celebrated clearing this first hurdle, many others condemned the action. Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, took to Twitter with some disturbing tweets.

The first tweet, sent before the vote, showed how far from reality the pro-abortion movement really is.

Compassion and respect aren’t words that one would associate with abortion. What about compassion and respect for the unborn child? What about compassion and respect for the woman who are misled into thinking that an abortion won’t haunt them? Planned Parenthood counts on abortion to make money. There’s nothing compassionate or respectful about that.

Fortunately, there were many who weren’t buying her disingenuous tweets cloaked as women’s rights.

After the vote took place, Richards again Tweeted about the issue and, again, got it completely backwards.

Abortions don’t move women forward, especially when one considers that more girls are aborted than boys. The pro-life movement wants to empower women to give life rather than play into a victimhood that would have them end one. Again, pro-life tweeters had something to say.

We are proud of those who voted to protect life yesterday, and no amount of twisted tweets will convince us otherwise.
