A Prayer For Mercy and Grace for Our Country

TRANSCRIPT: James Robison Speaking With Dr. Michael Brown

MICHAEL BROWN: Last question: I posted a minute or two ago, America exists as a nation today only by the extreme mercy of God, and I don’t think anybody has disagreed with that. You’ve been in ministry for decades, you’re past seventy years old now — do you feel an even greater urgency for the state of our nation than before?

JAMES ROBISON: Ben Carson was prophetic when he was asked the question, “Who’s going to lead America? What’s going to happen?” He said, “We’re going to get what we deserve.” Well the fact is — and Ben Carson would lead that move — we don’t want what we deserve. We have sown some seeds of terrible bitterness and rottenness, and we have rebelled against the truth of God. We have turned away from that which is precious and sacred. And we want mercy. We want grace.

We want to be like that nation that Jesus extended the invitation to as he prayed over Jerusalem, “Come to me, to the shelter and shadow, like chicks to the wings of a hen.” I want to see us rush back into the shelter of the Almighty. And that’s what we’re going to do. I do not want what we deserve. I want the grace and mercy and forgiveness of God, and I want him to restore the land, and heal the land like he promises he will, if his people called by his name will respond to the invitation he has extended.

And Dr. Brown, that’s what you and I are offering to people every day, because we are ambassadors for Christ, and so is every believer on this planet; and we don’t have to sign the title deed of this earth over to the devil and the kingdom of deception and darkness and defeat. We don’t have to do it.

MICHAEL BROWN: No, we don’t have to, and all authority in heaven and on earth resides in King Jesus, and ultimately every knee bows to him. Thank you, sir, for what you’re doing on the front lines. It’s been a special joy to be connected more with you this past year, plus get to know you better. My admiration has only increased in our time together, so thank you.

JAMES ROBISON: Mine to you, too. Thank you, Dr. Brown and all your audience, let’s pray. Let’s ask God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven: His kingdom come.
