Potter’s House Church in Dallas Honors Police, Calls for Unity, Reconciliation

By Austin Roscoe Published on July 11, 2016

Bishop T.D. Jakes called for unity Sunday while hosting a town hall meeting at the Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas, Texas.

After the recent deaths of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota, and Thursday’s slaying of five police officers in Dallas, Jakes sought to create unity across the Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter divide. Speakers at the two-hour event included Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Lavish “Diamond” Reynolds, the girlfriend of Philando Castile.

Jakes prayed for healing across our land, the Star-Telegram reported, “from the White House to the crack house.”
