Planned Parenthood side-stepped the law to kill babies and harvest their body parts for money. So reveals new primary source documents the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released this week. And that vindicates CMP itself.

CMP previously released a series of devastating undercover videos. They showed Planned Parenthood medical directors and executives discussing partial-birth abortions — abortions conducted to provide fetal body parts for research. Planned Parenthood claimed that the videos were “heavily edited.” They accused CMP of deceiving the public about their work.

They lied. And a federal appeals court ruled last week the videos were not “heavily edited” or “doctored.” The court said the videos provided “evidence that Planned Parenthood commits criminal partial-birth abortions.”

Why Planned Parenthood Needs Them

It is clear that Planned Parenthood participates in harvesting and selling aborted baby body parts, stated CMP. The evidence shows “the incentives that major abortion centers have to resort to illegal methods such as PBA.” Partial-birth abortions have been illegal for 12 years. In this kind of abortion, the abortionist allows the baby to be almost fully delivered before killing him.

Abortionists choose the abortion method for its value collecting “intact” fetal body parts. In some cases, the baby delivered completely before the abortionist killed him. 

How Planned Parenthood Deliberately Dodges the Law

Dr. Deborah Nucatola is Planned Parenthood’s former Senior Director of Medical Services. She casually discussed late-term abortions on one of the CMS undercover videos. Over wine and salad Nucatola also described the group’s way around the ban. “The Federal Abortion Ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation. So there are some people who interpret it as, it’s intent. So if I say on Day 1, I do not intend to do this, what ultimately happens doesn’t matter. Because I didn’t intend to do this on Day 1 so I’m complying with the law.”

Dr. Suzie Prabhakaran explained how abortionists simply filled out a document that states their intent. “So, like, there’s like a checkbox that says, “I intend to.” So it would be before the procedure, you do your evaluation, you write, ‘I intend to utilize dismemberment techniques for this procedure.’” Then the key words: “What ultimately happens doesn’t matter.” In other words, as long as you check the box claiming you “intend” to follow the law, you can then ignore the law.

Just Make Sure to Say the Baby Was Dead … Whether Dead or Not

Here’s another example of Planned Parenthood using paperwork to hide their dirty work. PP’s Manual of Medical Standards & Guidelines instructs abortionists on how to fill out the paperwork. It instructs abortionists to falsify documents. Regardless of whether they performed a partial-birth abortion, they are required to say the baby was dead prior to the procedure. 

CMP states that usually doctors must only record what actually happens during the abortion. The requirement that the abortionist must document a specific outcome means that no matter what, “Planned Parenthood’s record will appear spotless.”

The federal 5th Circuit Court of Appeals responded. “Well it’s not a matter of ‘documenting it,’ it’s complying with the actuality of it.”

Seeking Justice for the Killed and Sold

Dr. Katharine Sheehan is the medical director for Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest. In a 2004 lawsuit, she said that when she performed abortions she wanted an “intact fetus.” Sheehan said that babies were born “intact” 1 percent of the time. According to the CMS report, applying that rate “to PPPS’s 17,000 abortions per year yields an estimate of 170 born-alive infants per year” in her region.  

The release of the documents proving the undercover videos were accurate vindicates CMP. CMP wants Planned Parenthood to be punished for its criminal acts. CMP stated that law enforcement and regulatory authorities should take note that Planned Parenthood has violated human rights and dignity of the unborn.
