Omar’s ‘Some People’ and Hillary’s ‘Guys’: Different 9/11, Same Shocking Disregard for American Lives

I have a hard time looking objectively at Rep. Ilhan Omar’s dismissive comments about 9/11. Those “some people” did “something” alright. They very nearly murdered my sister.

Dodie was meeting in her office with her Navy intelligence counterpart when the “some people” the rest of us know as radical Islamist terrorists slammed a plane into the Pentagon. Specifically, right through the Navy man’s conference room. Had he not had business on her side of the Pentagon, they would have been killed. The death toll that terrible Tuesday would have been 2,998.

Handled by CAIR

Not that it matters to Omar. Her concern is casting herself as the victim. Her concern is pretending there was this explosion of retaliation against non-violent Muslims in this country in the wake of 9/11. It flat out did not happen. It is a lie. Just like her saying CAIR was formed in the wake of 9/11 to deal with this fictitious outpouring of vengeance.

The nation bent over backwards to “Handle with Care.” Meanwhile, CAIR was working to manhandle the nation. CAIR was formed in 1994 as a propaganda arm of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood to undermine the U.S. from within. That’s 7 years before 9/11. CAIR itself is an unindicted co-conspirator in a criminal case involving the funding of the terror group Hamas. (Michelle Malkin lists some more of CAIR’s greatest hits.)

It’s CAIR who’s mastered the tactic of stamping any statement of truth regarding the dangers of radical Islam as Islamophobia. They are very good at their job.

According to CAIR when Muslim jihadist groups say they want to kill you, it is irrational to believe them. Even when they and those they inspire do try to kill you at every opportunity.

Just two weeks ago, an ISIS-inspired jihadist was thwarted in his effort to run over as many people as possible at National Harbor. A massive terrorist attack was stopped just outside the nation’s Capital … in my hometown of Oxon Hill, Md. You’d think a guy with a hatred for “unbelievers” very nearly succeeding in his effort to “commit mass murder” would be a huge deal. But no. Ho-hum. Just some guy wanting to do something to your townfolk. And you pointing out that the suspect’s a radical Muslim? Just you being Islamophobic.

Pardon me for taking it personally when “some person” targets a favored family hangout.

What Omar Said Sounds Very Familiar

Dodie was naturally on my mind as I mulled over this Omar business. She had spent the ’90s warning her liberal, Clinton-loving brother (me) that the Clinton’s had been putting up barriers between the assorted U.S. intelligence agencies. The walls made it nearly impossible in some cases for them to share information.

In fact, in April 2001 the intel community knew something terrible was in the wind. They were in a desperate scramble to figure out what al-Qaeda was up to. So desperate Dodie was unable to fly to California for my wedding. Unfortunately, our intel community couldn’t put the pieces together. Hillary’s walls wouldn’t let them put pieces together.

Then the Pentagon’s walls exploded in fire and death. Had Dodie come across Hillary and Osama bin Laden while walking those seven miles up Route 1 away from the Pentagon that horrific day I suspect she wouldn’t have known which one to strangle first.

As I was recalling 9/11 and Hillary it hit me why Rep. Omar’s words sounded so familiar. Remember Hillary’s famous remark about the other 9/11 terrorist attack, Benghazi? “What difference, at this point, does it make?” Sure.

But remember what she said directly before it? “Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they’d go kill some Americans …”

Like Omar, Hillary was deliberately downplaying who the attackers were. They were not “guys out for a walk” β€” they were al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorists. (Something Hillary and the U.S. knew immediately.) They were not there because of a “protest” over some video. (She knew that too.) Benghazi was a strategically planned and executed military-style attack. On the 9/11 anniversary.

Like Omar, Hillary lied. The idea the Benghazi attackers were inspired by the video always was a lie concocted by the Obama White House. Just like the lie that America has spent the past 18 years awash in anti-Muslim hate.

In both cases, Americans were killed by radical Muslim extremists motivated by their faith and hatred of America. In both cases, there is a deliberate effort to downplay the specific religion-based motivation. And in both cases, Omar and Clinton acted as if they were the ones put out.

Motives

But what were Hillary’s motives for dismissing Benghazi’s al-Qaeda tied terrorists as “guys out for a walk”? Same motive the Obama Administration crafted the “inspired by an anti-Mohammed video” fiction in the first place. Because firm evidence indicates Hillary had armed those terror groups to help overthrow the secular rule of Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi.

How would it have looked weeks before the election to have it discovered Obama had help arm radical Islamists … all while claiming al-Qaeda was on the run. (Yeah, running toward the consulate with weapons we gave them.)

Meanwhile, look at Libya now: civil war, societal breakdown, lawlessness and violence sending hundreds of thousands pouring into Europe. And what in Hillary and Omar’s view would be just “some guys” forcing innocent people into “some thing” called human slavery?

No Surprise Omar Thinks What She Thinks

Libya was hardly an isolated incident.

Let’s be some guys and gals out taking a walk further down memory lane. Remember some of the Obama administration’s other Islamist-appeasing acts during its eight year reign?

  • Supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt after the overthrow of President Mubarak. When the people rose up against the Muslim Brotherhood, Obama resisted helping Egypt’s new leader.
  • Purged from FBI anti-terrorism training manuals references “offensive” to Muslims.
  • According to Sen. Ted Cruz, purged hundreds of references to Islam, Muslim or Jihad from the 2004 9/11 Report.
  • According to a retired DHS official Philip Haney, the CIA scrubbed hundreds of law enforcement records, mostly all pertaining to the Muslim Brotherhood.
  • Blocked the DEA’s Operation Cassandra investigation targeting Hezbollah’s drug trafficking enterprise in the U.S.
  • Labeled the Ft. Hood terrorist attack β€” committed by a radicalized Muslim Army psychiatrist shouting “Allahu Akbar” β€” as “workplace violence.” Nidal Hasan was not even charged with terrorism.
  • Labeled the attack on a kosher supermarket in Paris as a random shooting. This Obama did in an interview where he argued the media was exaggerating the threat of terrorism.
  • After a radical Islamist launched attacks on military sites in Chattanooga, Obama did not once use the word “terrorism” in his address from the Oval Office. This despite the attacker being a jihadist acting shortly after ISIS published a kill list of U.S. service members and urged supporters to murder U.S. troops.
  • Deleted references to ISIL in the transcript of 911 from the Pulse night club terrorist.
  • And we know Obama had as much of an aversion to the phrase “Muslim extremist” as George Bush did of broccoli.

Perhaps one can now understand Rep. Omar’s bafflement at the fury being sent her way. She’s just treading the same path Hillary and the Obama Administration had beaten down.

“Some people” might be thrilled. But “We, the People” have a right not to be.
