Horror: New York Passes Law Allowing Abortion Up to Birth

'May almighty God have mercy on this state!'

New York just legalized killing 6-pound babies. 8-pound babies. Healthy 10-pound babies.

In a 38-24 vote for the Reproductive Health Act (RHA), New York Senate agreed to allow abortion up to birth. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill yesterday. He signed it on the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

After the Senate passed the bill, senators broke out in applause. According to a tweet, just after the results were called, a voice was heard saying, “May almighty God have mercy on this state!”

What Does the Law Allow?

The legislation lets a woman have an abortion when “the patient is within 24 weeks from the commencement of pregnancy, or there is an absence of fetal viability, or the abortion is necessary to protect the patient’s life or health.” A patient’s “health” could be emotional or mental health as well.

Abortionists must consider “[A]ll factors — physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age — relevant to the wellbeing of the patient,” when making a decision to abort, Faithwire explained.

“Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion,” the bill states.

Gov. Cuomo was happy. “Today we are taking a giant step forward in the hard-fought battle to ensure a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her own personal health, including the ability to access an abortion.”

The Truth About What is Happening

What did the New York legislature approve? Dr. C. Brent Boles is an OB-GYN. He delivers babies all the time. He said in a statement to The Stream that New York’s new law is “tragic and heartbreaking.”

He’s delivered babies younger than the ones who will be slaughtered. “The youngest survivors were 22 1/2 weeks. … There is no difference in the full-term babies I deliver and the full-term babies that New York abortionists can now kill except that they are unwanted.”

Abortion is based on lies and selfishness. “The claim that the unborn is not a person is a lie. It is not based on science, ethics, or morality in any sense of the word. It is based on the fallacy that it is appropriate that one person lose their life in order to preserve the preferred lifestyle of another individual.”

It’s also a lie that the new law protects women’s health. For a woman whose life is in danger and her chances of survival are greater if she ends a pregnancy, there are ways to deliver a viable baby. Doctors can deliver the baby in a way that protects both mother and child. Abortion puts a mother at risk more than delivering a baby.

“The only purpose of abortion after viability is to ensure the delivery of a dead baby,” Boles explained.

What We Can Expect

The pro-abortion activists are getting louder. “As abortion activists gain ground, they become more and more bold.” Boles mentioned that Hillary Clinton once said that abortion should be safe, legal and rare.

She became emboldened during the 2016 presidential election. “She demonstrated her shift when she said that there should be more abortions. This law now says that you can do whatever you want to an unborn baby, as long as it is fully dead before it is fully delivered. It defines personhood as beginning with live birth.”

Boles explains that to make a change, people have to know the truth about abortion. First, they need to be truly disgusted with those who support abortion. They’ll become less likely to vote for the politicians that support it.

Second, they also need to hear about it in church. “Too many churches have leaders who refuse to address this evil because they don’t want to address the social issues. This is a sinful position as it goes against the mandate to be salt and light. It is not our place to call abortion a sin; God already did. It is a sin to shed innocent blood. Failure to recognize this and speak against is is sinful.”

The Reproductive Health Act takes effect immediately.
