My Conversation with Patricia King About Recent Exposures, Part 1

By Wanda Alger Published on February 19, 2025

Patricia King has been a well-established leader in the prophetic movement for decades. Her name has come up recently, specifically regarding Todd Bentley. She helped launch his ministry and gave him spiritual oversight for a time. But where does she stand now? How has she been processing all the recent exposures, and where does she stand concerning sexual abuse in the Church and the rising tide of victims coming forward?

In Part 1 of this conversation, King shares her incredible testimony of coming to Christ. Being a victim of sexual abuse herself who then dabbled in the occult, she tells how Jesus met her and set her free from the bondage and lies with a profound sense of His unconditional love. It compelled her to start sharing that Truth with anyone who would listen.

King knew Todd Bentley when he first came to the Lord and saw the gifts of the Spirit emerge in his life as he would spend hours in prayer. She saw both the rise and fall of this minister-turned-predator, and fills in a lot of gaps about his journey, as well as offering insight into the current exposures taking place elsewhere. Not only does she provide some missing details concerning abuse in the Church, she delivers a clear charge to those now sounding the alarm — and reminds those who are in compromise how to get back on safe footing.

“Todd’s background as a child was painful. It was hard. He had a lot of things to overcome,” says King. “And when you’re broken, you have to get healing. It takes time. It’s not just a one-time thing. You walk out your salvation; it’s already in there, but you ‘walk it out with fear and trembling,’ the Bible says.”
