Michael Brown vs. the Same-Sex Marriage Twitter Trolls
Yesterday Stream contributorย Michael Brown invited gay journalist Michelangelo Signorile to have a live, civil debate about marriage, and it turned into a Twitter battle.
@MSignorile Hey Mike, what do you say? http://t.co/2OFMPFVLNs
— Dr. Michael L. Brown (@DrMichaelLBrown) September 3, 2015
Signorile wasn’t interested:
Nothing to discuss. We've gained our rights. NOW you want civil discussion, after you crusaded vs. us for years? https://t.co/e480bY01MC
— Mike Signorile (@MSignorile) September 3, 2015
So, Brown pointed out that his position hadn’t changed:
@MSignorile My position has remained the same for years. I've always called for discussion. In any case, we're not going in the closet.

In response, Signorile sent Dr. Brown the Huffington Post article which inspired this morning’s piece, Huffington Post Editors Prove my Point on Marriage.โ
Brown has been getting some hateful tweets in response:
@MSignorile ahh I made the mistake of clicking on his blog link and reading a few pars. I need a punching bag.

@DrMichaelLBrown @MSignorile sorry. We don't squabble over what belongs to us.

They clearly had no interest in civility or live dialogue:
@KarenJewel @MSignorile time for talking is ovah.
