Joy Break: Spontaneous Worship at the White House for Faith Briefing

By Nancy Flory Published on November 16, 2018

When we turn on our television or smart phones we are bombarded with news that brings us down. Where are all the good stories? Those stories are still there. Here’s one that we hope will bless you.

Christian music artists led a spontaneous time of worship at a “faith briefing” held at the White House Tuesday, reported Faithwire. The faith briefing provided an update on President Trump’s faith-based initiatives. Christian singers and worship leaders tweeted and posted about the event on social media.

What a Beautiful Name

Christian artist Tauren Wells tweeted a video of a group of people singing “What a Beautiful Name.”

“What a privilege to declare the name of Jesus in worship and in prayer today at the White House,” wrote Wells. “I was challenged, informed, convicted, & inspired at the #faithbriefing w/many peers in the CCM industry. The church has a great opportunity to rise with grace & truth in this hour.”

Worship and Prayer

Paula White, chair of President Trump’s faith advisory board and church pastor, posted a video on Instagram. “What an amazing day at The White House … closed out with a time of worship and prayer! I wish everyone would come up and experience this! #realnews.”

Dominic Shahbon, director of events for Bethel Music also posted on Instagram. “Wow. What a day. Had the honor to go the White House for a #FaithBriefing with key administration officials and faith leaders. Specifically, to hear about faith initiatives that are happening. Great things are taking place whether the media tells us or not! Let’s just say that I’m leaving Washington, D.C. stirred, hopeful, convicted and informed with TRUTH.”

God is Surely Moving

“God is surely moving in this nation and through His Church,” Shahbon continued.” Let’s be a people that are not letting a day go by without praying for our President and this incredible administration. Thank you @paulamichellewhite for all you do and for helping making this happen. It’s truly powerful to watch and I’m moved beyond words.”

Musical group Sanctus Real tweeted “Musical artists + amazing acoustics + worship = chills for days! Amazing day in DC! #faithbriefing.

The group was also filmed praying together. Christian music group Citizenway posted on Instagram that it was “really special” to pray and sing with their friends.
