Joy Break: Men in Blue Save the Day With New Shoes and Popsicles
When we turn on our television or smart phones we are bombarded with news that brings us down. Where are all the good stories? Those stories are still there. Here’s one that we hope will bless you.
In Tukwila, Washington, a police sergeant and an officer — called “Sergeant Modest” and “Officer Bashful” by their department — were patrolling on foot Saturday at Cascade View Park. They saw a little boy with dirty, bloodied socks on his feet. The sergeant cleaned and bandaged the boy’s injured foot and asked him where his shoes were. The boy said he didn’t have any that fit.
The Tukwila Police Department shared the news on their Facebook page:
The sergeant ran out and grabbed a pair of shoes for him while the officer kept him and his friends company. He came back with not only a pair of shoes, but also with a bunch of popsicles because what isn’t better than a cold Popsicle on a hot summer day?! The officer helped to tie his new friend’s shoes and they all enjoyed a Popsicle together before parting ways.
