Joy Break: Fixer Upper’s Chip and Joanna Gaines Announce the Birth of Baby Number 5
When we turn on our television or smart phones we are bombarded with news that brings us down. Where are all the good stories? Those stories are still there. Here’s one that we hope will bless you.
It’s a boy! HGTV’s Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have announced the birth of their fifth child.
Crew Gaines made his appearance Thursday evening. Proud papa Chip tweeted about his birth. “And then there were 5.. The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger! 10 beautiful toes and 10 beautiful fingers are all accounted for, and big momma is doing great! #blessedBeyondBelief.”

Joanna posted on Instagram. “Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love. He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early — which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful.”
Chip and Joanna’s four older children — Emmie Kay, 8, Duke, 9, Ella, 11, and Drake, 13 — eagerly waited outside their new brother’s door. Joanna said it’s now one of her favorite pictures. “They couldn’t wait to meet their new baby brother ❤️.”

Few words were needed for an image of Joanna holding her baby. “Cuddle bug,” she posted on Instagram.
Last September, the Gaines’ announced that their hit home remodel show Fixer Upper would be ending after five seasons.
“Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses,” they blogged. “Who knows what the future holds, but we’re excited for whatever is around the bend and in the meantime, we will definitely be staying in touch.”
