James O’Keefe Resigns From His Project Veritas After Being Removed as CEO and Stripped of All Authority

"The mission continues," he says.

Despite adamant denials from Project Veritas mere days ago, James O’Keefe is out of the news organization he founded and led.

OANN first broke the news Monday afternoon that O’Keefe had resigned. This came after the journalist was removed February 5 as CEO and from the Project Veritas board and suspended without pay for six months. A removal that occurred nearly a week before Project Veritas’ board publically denied any plans to remove O’Keefe.

O’Keefe’s emotional farewell address to loyal PV staff was leaked and posted on Vimeo. You can also find it at Gateway Pundit. It’s gripping viewing. “I have been stripped of my duties as CEO and removed from the board of directors,” he said. “Currently, I have no job at Project Veritas. I have no position here based on what the board is done.”

And so he is walking away completely.

The Pfizer Connection

O’Keefe admitted he’s not the easiest person to work for. But says nothing much has changed about his style for 13 years. “So why now? What has changed in the past three weeks?” The only thing he can point to is Project Veritas breaking their biggest story ever, exposing that Pfizer is doing gain-of-function research. The connection between Pfizer and his ouster he did not know. “You’re journalists,” he told his staff. “Maybe you can find out.”

O’Keefe then detailed the shocking story of these past few weeks of behind the scenes backstabbing and bizarre accusations. Of a Project Veritas officer offering journalists raises if O’Keefe was ousted. Of PV’s public deception. Of competing visions on how to approach donors. Of another officer denying he had any role in the Pfizer story. Of petty complaints about his use of black cars. Of being accused of spending 12K of PV money on his wedding … when he’s not married. Of an officer saying that PV wouldn’t have to tell the public or donors if O’Keefe was ousted as CEO. On and on.

The timeline O’Keefe offered and documents he presented paint a clear picture. For some reason, the Board suddenly wanted the founder and face of Project Veritas gone.

With no job, no pay during a six-month suspension, no idea why the organization that in the public mind is James O’Keefe was suddenly shredding him right after its biggest story ever, O’Keefe said “enough.”

“I am packing up my personal belongings and starting anew.” He shed some tears, shared how he’s been to the bottom before, but this time he’s got “millions of people” who know what he’s about. O’Keefe expressed his love for his loyal staffers (for the first time). “The mission continues,” he declared. “I am not done.”
